Ravagers
I don't wanna complain, and I understand that ravagers have been built as a literal metal moving machine that can climb ziplines you can create by shooting it out of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grappling hook. That they are quintesentially the Sabertooth of this DLC, but on steroids for mobility.

Aside from being good at gathering Chitin and Hide like it should be, after all the use I can see out of it, the strength it compares to the Saber and Dire Wolf actually isn't there from what I can see. In the wild, their gash effect tears through your health after a long fight with the entire pack, its terrifying, the creatures themselves only induce fear through that nasty long amount of bleed, that applies through and after the fight for 7 seconds more.

The Wiki itself seems to overall make it clear that it shares the base damage with the Dire Wolf, while messing around on a high rates upgrade station broken kind of server I got a ravager close to 1000 MD and it was overall only doing 200 or more damage solo (max imprint included), I'm not entirely sure how this measures up to the wolf of similar stats, but something tells me the Dire Wolf and Sabertooth tend to do quite alot more damage.

The Ravager still easily holds up as a fantastic tame, with a good deal of punch for the fertile lake, and harvesting trilobites, but this creature just doesn't feel like the powerful predator I'd expect from it on par with the Sabertooth and Dire Wolf for actual damage, instead of gashing overtime kills, which you never get to experience, which might leave you with a creature feeling only slightly stronger than a raptor once tamed...

I do confess I have personally not roamed with a pack of these to see how much better that makes it, seeing as how dangerous aberration is, I feel like they'd all end up just getting killed, and making it harder to move from place to place without something getting stuck.

Anyone know better than I?

In any case, still a must have as far as early to midgame tames go. Just wish it could get kills and fight off dangerous carnivores more similarly to the Dire Wolf or Sabertooth.

They are good early game mounts and end game scouts due to zipline and jump, I dont use them for much else once you have progressed a bit.

Moving metal......crab duel weilding anky's is going to move infinitely more metal and much faster than someone running around with a pick and ravager.

Also note, they are horrible meat collectors so do not harvest sheep with them, get off and use your pick. You will get about twice as much mutton. Just something I learnt.

I still like them and breed them. If anything they are awesome guard dogs should a wild spawn in my base.

The right click attack harvests more meat.
