Local coop over split screen? Yes, again! :)
I never bought this game thinking about it's MMO features, in fact i got it when i saw the announcement that it'll deliver the opportunity to play a dinosaur game with my girl, which is a lovely thing to introduce our time into constructing something in an amazing fiction.

Some of you will say... My monitor can't fit 2 screen... Performance issues will happen... How will you share the inputs... etc...

For now i have something like 400 games that can be somehow played locally, it includes hot seat, split games like COD, shared screen RPGs and i'm pretty sure that i have some RTS somewhere, but it can be just a dream and i'll not talk about it...
What i'm trying to say is that not everyone lives alone and die jealously because some hardware, or playtime, indeed most of normal folk like to share it, specially if the game is great and everyone can have some taste of it.

Couch coop is the future, it's so much healthy than playing with online trolls that you'll never be able to hit in the face.

"The launch of the Windows 10 version also brings the single player & non-dedicated split-screen to PC! Over time we'll be working on incorporating the same feature onto the Steam version of the game." - it's from official announcement. https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/articles.html/ark-survival-evolved-available-now-on-windows-10-with-crossplay-r638/

It's not the first time they lied, but at least it confirms that they are still working on implementing split screen in Steam version (which is the best one, since there is mods).

Also, unlike Xbox - PC version will have untethered multiplayer in offline split screen.

Counter-arguments are irrelevant, since devs themselves implemented it in winstore version and said it will come to Steam version too. Though, it's not the first time they announced something and didn't delivered.

Amazing how people think split screen is good. It was good back in the 80's early 90's.

Thats like 30 years ago.

Nah, it'll always be good, indeed, i didn't spected something from a game like this one, but thinking out of the box an experience like that be very funny.

100% agree I have been lucky to have had family, friends and girlfriends that would from time to time sit by my side and have fun with local coop.

Lately with my current gf and the quarantine we are facing I've been looking around for a bigger variety of coop games we can play together to eventually find that one we both can truly enjoy.
Hence why I'm here, following the trail about the rumors of coop in Ark Survival PC.

Yet... It has been two years since this post and from what I gathered there Is still no local coop.

I think we don't will get local Coop. I mean, even with high end systems ark is... Well.. Ark :). That means you would really hard lose your FPS in local Coop. Buy a second pc and that's it.
