Aberration: Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost

This has been going for days now

and before u fanbois start talking ♥♥♥♥ I have looked EVERYWHERE and there is no solution


I have tried

uninstalling my drivers then updating them to the latest
uninstalling display drivers and reinstalling them
validating the game files
running the game with d3d10
adding the -norhithread to launch
running the game on the lowest settings

to no avail

I'm running the game with

AMD R9 270x 2gb
i5-4670 CPU 3.40GHz
8 gigs of ram


the game works fine on any other map with 0 problems and decent fps
however when I'm walking in the blue crystal zone my game suddenly minimizes itself and after a while if i leave it there it crashes and my tribe mates say that I died to a nameless, I'm guessing the problem is related to them because even in other areas like portal, high mushrooms etc.. the game while having a lot of fps drops it does not crash.

yes wildcard needs to fix the game and stop changing dino stats in there updates

Many of us are having the same issue.. I'm see a common theme, The Blue zone. New ATI drivers just released, optional one has something about ark but doubt it is related. Hope they address it soon. Hang in there folks!

Well reinsatilling dx 10 has helped most. Hope it works out for u folks as well

Yes, runnign Ark in DX10 instead of 11 seemed to help ALOT for a while but it eventually started again and more frequently. I'm going to keep messing with stuff until I figure it out. \0/ Yeehaw.

Yes dx 10 works bettwr but i found dow loadi g and installing it is wgat did the trick. Somethi g happened to the d3d im arks updates. Seeimg as ark runs in dx10 reinstalling it should remove the d3d error.

Good idea. I just did a full clean install on all my drivers with todays newest ATI drivers. We'll see if that helps.

tons of people play without problems and with even worse setups than yours.... so stfu and try again.

I was just wondering how much better a 270 is compared to the gpus listed as MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS.

Vs gtx670, 670 is 20% faster

Vs hd 7870 or something like that is the same.

So now that we know you have the minimum requirements to play the game, do your settings are the minimal possible? Aka lowest settings at 720p?

Probably not I would say.

Probably not I would say.

Highly doubt it's because of my GPU not being good enough to run the game since I played the other maps just fine with it, SE, ragnarok, island all fine

And yes, I have everything on low 1080 resolution with with the scale 3/4, once the 3rd update this day finishes I will screenshot my settings for you to make sure.
