Where to find Red Gems in Aberration?

I have a small amount of the map scoped out and I tried going down deep, but than I got to the grave of the lost and I kept getting radiation poisoning and I want to get Red Gems, but I hope I don't have to go all the way down there to get it.

SO if someone could tell me where i could go in order to get Red Gems that would be awesome.

Sometimes gems can fall in earthquakes, I find green gems often in the mushroom areas but im still trying to find red and blue

I found a few just wandering. There were in pretty obscure places

The blue ones I found by being in the lower area from the Mushroom forest. It was in that blue area and it was really easy to find.

Watch a roll rat for a while; it aggroes when you steal them but it does drop em.

I had that happen, but they only dug up blue and red gems. I guess I'll keep trying till I see a red one.

has anyone noticed gems disappearing from smithy or other inventories? its like they have an invisible spoil timer...

i think that higher tiers can be substituted for lower ones

Roll rat tunnels give random gems.. but if you want tons, you have to go down a few levels

The map has 4 levels
You start on level 1, the green level and there are lots of out crops of green gems
You can go up to level 0 (the surface) or down to level 2
Level 2 is the blue level and there are lots of out crops of blue gems
go down again to level 3 and that is the red level and there are lots of out crops of red gems
(and lots of really strong dinos)
Then there is Level 4 (and that has too many spoilers to post here)

Yeah I really got tired of hoping for roll rats so I went and jumped down there and just got a few red gems and since I had a certain mod I managed to retrieve my inventory really easily and got a good amount of red gems.

There are 2 big spawns of red crystals... Like 50 of them in one place. On the end of red zone. Southern edge of map. Expect reapers there x_X

But how do you manage to even go down there? I can't seem to find a way to go from the blue biom to the red without being shredded by radiation, and to circumvent that, i first need the red gems that i get down there ^^

You need a radiation suit aka hazard suit to go there

The red crystals are by big red crystals but the havestable are purple in color not red
