Strange Moving Plant *Abberation*?

Has anyone figured out what the weird looking moving plants are/do? They have a tendril/vine coming out of the top and seem to raise it high in the air when you approach, but act more docile when you put space between you and it. I've tried to hit it with a pickaxe and hatchet, and it makes the same sound as hitting a tree, but I get no resources from it. I can't pick anything off of it by hand.

So, what gives? Is that the Plant Species Z or something else entirely?

Basically it involves the new Charged status which allows you to fight against the nameless. When that Tendril fully extends than you will get the charged status and so will the nameless which makes them WAY easier to kill (IE I was doing 40 points of damage to them normally and after charged I was doing a little under 200.)

Ah ok. I always have one of my Bulbdogs on me so I never noticed any buff from the plant. That's really good to know, though I have yet to see Nameless in the lake near the Portal spawn.

really thats what those plants do? i thought that they just give u a nasty de-buff or something

I was hallucinating after going near one of those plants, so I thought they randomly did that, but I guess there must-have been one of the poison mushrooms nearby

idk what they do the others are prob right tho i figured they spawned the hallucinating mushrooms (others as in other comments)

Where is that "lake near the portal spawn" everyone keeps talking about?!? I only found the river deep under that level, infested with craps and spinos and other carnivores... I even didn't find a regular way down there...

Does anyone have a lets-play to that lake from the portal-spawn? WITHOUT jumping down a cliff?

Ok so clearly nobody has the right answer lol so I'll give it. That is the Species Z plant if you stand at it for about a minute or so it will spit out 1 seed. When you plant a Species Z and it matures it will create a small Charge Light Zone to ward off nameless in the underground biome. On top of this it produces what is probably the most OP item in Aberration the Flashbang Fruit (Species Z Fruit) which will stun creatures that hate light, dismount riders and stun their dino, and creates a Charge Light zone that weakens the Nameless and Reapers and to.top it all off it blinds players.

Edit: it also has 2 modes a left click makes it detonate on impact and a right click gives it a 3 second timer on impact allowing for a surprise attack or timing!

Hey, stand by the plant and after a bit it will spit out a species Z seed, this Z plant grows to look like the parent but a different color, it permently has a big charge light raidus around it that keeps away nameless AND it gives you flashbang grandes that instantly scare away nameless ALONG with stunning enemy player dinos, blinding enemy players (and you if you are to close), and dismounting the player from there mount, they also explode on contact.
