Taming a Reaper???
How does one tame said Reaper queen / king? I've tried the "impregnate" thing, where the queen supposedly impregnates you and the baby bursts out later.....but it never happens, neither my tribe mates nor myself seem to be able to get "Impregnated"? Is there some other way to obtain a reaper? or did the devs just change their mind on taming them? Any help would be very appreciated!

Got it!! You need to get impregnated, but you can only imprint on the little nasty if you have the reaper queen's gland, gotten from killing one

I got it finally, She will grab you during the fight (on mine when she was at extremely low health) and impregnate you then after a period of time the baby will burst out. running around murdering things for exp will buff its level upon the burst. Then as was mentioned u need the glad to actively tame the baby. There was an incident regarding a glitched queen that i had spawned in that got unstuck and ate the baby before i could properly tame it but. Ill go for attempt 2 and let you know exactly how it goes.

Update: sucessfully got impregnated again. seems to happen when she is literally verge of dying-dead. Had a reaper King burst out of me and sucessfully claimed it using the gland. Hopefully im feeding it right lol.

This is really solid advice! The only one I could find online, I still got a question though if you don't mind. You mean when you are pregnant, you kill stuff and then the level of the baby will increase? Also does it matter if you're on a tame or not? And the impregnate is just an animation which will happen when she is on like 5 % HP? And do you obtain the gland from killing normal reapers? Sorry for all the questions haha but thanks in advance :)

1. Yes, a little icon comes up where the usual heat/cold/starvation icons will with a timer for the 'birth' and an EXP tracker. You can log upto 52,500 exp (75 levels) and the baby will pop out lvl 75 (lvl 1 reaper queen) Exp while riding a tame seems to be reduced as compared to killing things by yourself
2. Yes its a tail attack (on a force tamed queen its the X attack) that when it hits a human grabs them up and inserts an embryo. it does hurt so watch health lol. she will then immediately slither away into the dirt and the animation can be interrupted if shes hit by something big like a paracer
3. So far ive only tried getting the gland from Queens. Ill try murdering some kings and see what happens.

Killing spawned in Subterannian and Surface kings seems to have no drops outside of the usual meat/hides. Im assuming the pheremone only comes from the queen which sort of makes sense.

Neat things: I have three reaper kings that have burst out of me thus far and there is some colour variation going on. One is a dark grey w a lighter underside and red/orange face and the other is almost all orange w black back. So far no tamed queens.

Hi! So, I'm playing aberration on ps4 and this has been soooo helpful! I've been trying all night to get a baby reaper and I just don't understand. You mentioned an "x" attack? Obviously it's a different button on ps4, but what kind of attack is it? Is it the spinning attack, or the "acid shooting" attack? And also, I have a tamed queen, can I impregnate my tribemates? Or do they have to be enemies? Like, do I have to leave the tribe quick to get impregnated? Thanks in advance!!!

All my messing around has been offline in singleplayer with usage of ACM so with the queen i am not sure. All the birthed reapers are "kings".

As for the animation, its seperate from the spit or the attack where she swings all the way around. its a smaller more direct stab with the tail. I cant really help with the controller conversion unfortunately, i know in the controls for pc the X is linked to the dino Air brake command. MAybe go through the control settings if you have them and see what that corresponds with>?

So I checked, and there is absolutely no air brake button for ps4. I checked every button, and it's a no-go. Guess I'll have to try it with a wild one.

unable to play at the moment so any chance someone could check to see if its just kills that grant the exp i think it might be a case its tracking exp you earn while your impregnated so taking a Broth of Enlightenment then crafting a boat load of narcotics in a few chem benches could be a good way to get a high level reaper

Crafting doesnt seem to count towards the offspring exp, appearantly the little bugger craves only death and destruction. (I used a mortar/pestle to make many narcotic, tried crafting some rafts and some stuff at the smithy. no gains)
