Any way to disable the murshroom hallucination effect on Aberration?
Is there anyway to disable the visual effect given by walking through certain mushrooms on Aberration? It's very nauseating which makes it hard to play.

Hazmat suit is the solution for the effects. However, even though its the red spotted mushrooms, blue spotted mushrooms, and red spindles that all can cause the effects, you will most likely be stuck wearing the hazmat suit if you are ever moving around.

But, you'll notice that sadly, Tek armor doesn't protect from these affects, despite the Tek helmets "unlimited" air passive, but there is a work around:

In Short: eat mushrooms to prevent/reduce the effect, hazmat to remove the worry, and the Mod to render Tek armor fully useful against it.

As mentioned by some of the posters, there appear to be areas that, by all accounts, should NOT give the status effect, but which give it anyways.

That's to do with graphic settings. Most people play with light bloom off and having this on is critical in seeing the spores in the air.

I have tested this and posted results on these forums. I have some screenshots at minimum settings toggling bloom on and off and results speak for themselves.

Whether it's right that you need particular graphic settings to see an effect that will kill is another story.

*winces* as someone who's computer sometimes struggles to play ark on the very very lowest settings (at least with larger maps)...

eat the light brown mushrooms, in bulk (think the aquatic mushrooms work to)
congrats, as logn as you have that buff on your character, you are immune

The blue spores are way more annoying. Even at 300 health they freeze me to death or the blurry screen gets me eaten. The aggeravic mushrooms make you immune to the red shrooms, but the aquatic ones just decrease the timer on the blue spores. (eating aggeravic mushrooms can still help you survive the freezing spores because of the increased health gain after eating them). Gas masks and radiation helmets should absolutely protect you from them, too.

Why should they? Maybe the spores are absorbed through the skin and not inhaled?

I actually still see them in the shot with no bloom. They are just EXTREMELY faint as the bloom isn't lighting them up like flares.

I think you and I are committing Thread Necromancy to a post from 2017.

gawd from 2017? Well, I still remember that flashing nightmare... Not sure they ever added an option to turn it off. I doubt it. Pretty sure there might be a mod that does so, though
