Basements & Tunnels

Does the ability to dig a hole or creat tunnel exist? I.e. Start the foundation for making a basement level in a house.
Or perhaps make a tunnel connecting two near by structures, avoiding damage from surrounding predators.

There are caves however.

There isn't but would love to see this added in the future. More so for Scorched Earth when those Super Heat Waves hit and your base is no where near a cave.

My wife and I are hooked on this game. We have had challenges on figuring out how to do stuff. Using the Ark wiki has help a lot and also looking and searching in the Steam Forums. Very helpful.

I can't remember which one, but one of the castle building mods has the ability to place a foundation that's designed for a basement entrance.

It may be Advanced Architecture I'm thinking of - very similar to Castles and Keeps mod, but more restrictive (just something to keep in mind). Can't combine vanilla ark structures with this mod, for example.
