You may not have enough eggs. :P I use the big dino eggs when I tame Ovi's, like Bronto, Rex, Spino etc. They are almost guranteed to insta tame with a Giga egg. Just keep in mind, the bigger the egg the better when it comes to Ovi's

77.
the brontos near my base never really lay eggs which is quite irritating.... If there's a way to make wild brontos lay eggs, that would be nice. Thanks for sharing though!

That cause all the brontos near you are male...you might be waiting a while

so you can check it your self without waiting for an answer ;-)
I've tried the calculator, I am probably not doing it right, but its doesn't seem to be working. I have 1 bronto egg, 22 dodo eggs, 2 fertilized dodo eggs, 1 pteranodon egg, and 1 raptor egg.
I put that into calculator, but it doesn't seem to show anything. And each time i put giga egg on 0 because I have none, it keeps going back to 1.
23 dodo eggs, my bad.

Are you playing on a server with others? if so ask for a giga egg. Im sure someone will have one or two to spare.

that might be cause you would need ~154 eggs from any other creature except Giga, Quetz, Rex, Spino, Bronto, Carno

You need a lot of dodo eggs, a stack and a half seems about right. I would use the dodo eggs to make kibble for taming a couple of of very high level pteranodons before trying to tame a oviraptor.

Here is how to get a lot of eggs quickly.

Tame a load of female dodos at the same time (make sure you have a male for the mate boost), just go along the beach and tame every female dodo you see, as soon as you put the mejo berries on one, go find another to tame, circle back every so often to make sure they are knocked out as required.

It'll be very quick and soon you'll have about 20+ dodos, after that you'll have plenty of eggs within a few days.

Have the dodos reasonably close to where you do all your crafting work and check on them every 20 mins or so.
If you leave them on the ground then Turn off undergrowth when searching for eggs and line them up neatly for quick inspection.
