ARK Carnivores Too Friendly?
I've witnessed disturbing behavior from the island's carnivores. They're being friendly with each other getting together and having tea parties. Where is my Spino vs Rex showdowns? Like in JP3. Where is my African Safari experiences like when Cheetahs try to avoid Lions or get killed. I think it would be alot cooler if the Carnivores acted alot more realistic with each other. Like, Rex vs Spino fights, Carnos avoiding larger Carnivores and going after smaller ones like Raptors. Stuff like that. I was excited when I read on Spino dossier that they would be territorial. I was thinking that meant it would go after everything (regardless of species) near it but Rexes get up in their faces and they do nothing about it. :( It ruins my immersion! D:

Ark's AI aside, this is pretty damn accurate behavior. Rarely in nature do you see predators killing eachother.

Bro, what documentaries are you watching? Disney?

Show me what documentary contradicts that. The only exception is Chimps, but Chimps are ravenous evil pieces of ♥♥♥♥ anyway.

Notice I said "rarely". It happens, yes, but it's not often. More often than not predators go after PREY, not other predators. Otherwise, predators wouldn't exist now would they?

In nature, a broken arm/leg, lost eye, etc., will likely lead to a slow death. Predators know that and thus don't risk it often.

Yeah, but real carnivores are also not rampaging serial murderhobos wiping all life that stands before them either.

That's why I added an example of some Carnivores avoiding each other also for realistic variety. :D

So which is it? Above you challenge my post that it's realistic behavior avoiding eachother. Now you say this. Which is it? Which is realistic, "bro"? Cotnradict yourself much?

This is what happens when people post ♥♥♥♥ in their head without thinking about it and a bunch of sheep reply without thinking about it......bahhhhhhhhh

Completely agree with this portion. Stupid idea, retarded justification without any sort of legitimacy to back it. At least if OP was going to try and back it with "realism" it'd be TRUE realism, not referencing Jurassic Park for god's sake XD

So it does happen, even you say so. It's natural. What isn't natural are big territorial animals coming up close nose-to-nose with each other and ignoring each other's existence.

Lightning strikes people in real life. Does that mean that everywhere you walk you should be struck by lightning in Ark? Just because something HAPPENS, doesn't mean it should happen a lot inside of a GAME (lmfao).

Stating that just because one in a thousand predators will attack another predator (under EXTREME circumstances) that justifies seeing predators in Ark battle 24/7 is, frankly, idiotic.

Should they sit and stare at eachother? No. They certainly shouldn't just attack eachother, though. That's asinine. If you want realism, everything runs from what can kill it. Though, that portion is likely to be implemented when they do finish AI. Randomly attacking eachother will likely never happen, however. It doesn't happen in nature, it'd be retarded if it happened in Ark.

Even if you throw the realism factor out, it's a VERY stupid idea. Imagine trying to tame something, you couldn't ever even get aggro. Stupid idea.

Pretty sure that Carnivores killing each IRL other happens way more than people getting struck by lightning. Poor comparison. Again, it's not perfect but my idea is alot more realistic than the way things are now with Carnivores giving eskimo kisses and singing kumbahyah with each other around prey.

That's called an analogy.

People dying to aids does too. Should we introduce sodomy to Ark?

There should be aggressive enemity between predator types.

Insects should be aggressive to anything that's of an edible size. No more mountain or swamp truces between scorpions and sabertooths, leeches and sarcos, or ants and just about everything that isn't you.

Sharks and mantas shouldn't be buddy buddy.

Theropod predators should have a 'roar' that will invoke fear behavior in smaller predators like raptors or sabertooths. This will allow a Rex, carno, or mega/allo to 'kill steal' prey. They will NOT work together, even if chasing the same prey. If it has to 'look up', it should be moving off to someplace safe.

All predators have a 1 minute passive timer for every 'bite' taken from a dead animal. This can curb hyper-aggressive rampages.

With that lightning analogy let me say this then in same arguement: Asteroids hit the earth in real life should that mean our servers should get hit with an asteroid and be wiped out all the time?

Good riddance.

"I hate Tek Tier!"... The developers allow private servers to disable pretty much anything you want, so you could just join a server that has Tek Tier disabled... "I don't care! I'm finding a new game!" *One month later the kid's back on Ark with a laser pistol*

That wasn't the question. Reading comprehension for the win :)

Man, neither you or Nibi can even figure out how to quote something. How then can anyone take anything the two of you say to be founded on any sort of intelligence?

Others have already posted their legit comments about it. You're the only one watching Disney documentaries. :)
