A Word on Placing Industrial Cooker

You guessed it... I ran into the oddity of being unable to place an Industrial Cooker -- "No Snap Point".

I read a lot of stuff today on the subject. It seems the "answer" has changed over time. Here is the solution I found today -- Decmber 2016 --

You must have a pipe laid. The Cooker's water inlet attachment point is on its base, more or less in the center of the unit. This point will snap to the end of a pipe.

I found the best way to achieve a sensible arrangement was to lay a straight (horizontal) pipe on the surface I want to place the Cooker on, with one end of the pipe positioned where I want the center of the Cooker to be. Make sure the other end of the pipe is accessable since you'll need to run this to water from an intake. (Apparently, reservoirs will not supply the Cooker -- I haven't tested this to see if it's still true).

Setting the pipe on the floor like this ensures the Cooker also sits on the floor. If you use a vertical pipe you'll usually get it piercing your floor with the top end a few fleet off the surface. Your cooker will snap to that, and thus be precariousaly balanced upon the end of your pipe, a few feet off the floor. Looks ridiculous. Also, your floor needs to be elevated otherwise you won't be able to access the other end to run it to water.

Since I was placing my Cooker against a wall, I stood facing the wall squarely, and placed my pipe perpendicular to the wall, with the near end in the center of the floor tile where I wanted the Cooker. Without moving, I then placed the Cooker, which snapped to the end of this pipe, with its back and long side "against" the wall (more or less - I guess a dodo could squeeze through back there).

This left the other end of the pipe protruding outside of my home. Mind you, my home is Glass/Metal, built atop the highest mesa in The South Islets region, so running the pipes 500 feet down to the lagoon was a bit of a pain. But that's another story.

What is relevant here is that this was the FIRST water pipe I laid, because beginning as I've described is the only way to put the Cooker exactly where you want it. Anything else, and you'll end up compromising its placement. Then extend from here to supply your other water needs.
