Ark server host timeout

Hello,

I recently purchased an ARK server from a dedicated server host that is listed on the ARK game page and I am unable to connect to it.

Everytime I try to direct-ip connect it says "Lost connection to host/host timed out" This happens everytime I try to direct connect to a server, not just mine. What is the problem?

My game is up to date, the server is up to date, light mods used, etc.

My sever does not come up in the ARK server lobby, nor can I connect to it through direct-ip steam server browser, yet the website says its up and running. I don't understand why I am unable to connect everytime I try to join a direct-IP server.

Any Ideas?

You need tech support from the hosting company it seems... Personally I always use a company called multyplay have never had a issue, great customer service and a very easy to use server interface although I have not tried them with Ark yet

First problem is "Survival Servers".

Server restarts that make you feel like Rip Van Winkle.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to update that I did get it working after about 2 hours of configurations.

Apparently there are not just game ports, but there are query ports, game ports and Rcon ports.

I figured I would need the game port to connect but apparently I needed the query port to connect..who would have figured that out heh.

Glad to hear you got it working. Any further issues there are always people here that can help. If you ever become unhappy with your host or you are paying over 20 dollar a month PM me. I know of a great company that charges less than 20. I left them to get my own dedicated box so I can run whatever games I want.

I added a few mods and then tried to get back on and now It's back to the same crap. I'm getting super annoyed. I paid for this server over 15 hours ago and I haven't even got 30 minutes played on the server

everything I do it just times out

direct ip connect (which was working b4 i added a few mods) now times out
steam browser connect times out
ark server lobby times out

about to give up..i just want to play on my own server and i am getting super discouraged.

I personally use Host Havoc. Never had a real problem with them. When i did have a problem their support answered or fixed the problem within 2 hours. This includes moving and setting up my servers in a cluster. They run about $17.50 for a 35 slot server. To direct connect to your server ( only need the first time) after it is set up you just start steam and press direct connect. To update server you just shut it down and press steam update. Also allows on click mod install for alot of mod. Can not say on anyother server provider as I have only used Host havoc for ark.
