as far as range, I've had a keypad in my house open/close my main entrance Behemoth gate some 100 yards away down at the bottom of my base.
have you made sure you using the CLOSE command, not the open one. Simply clicking 'E' on the pad is the OPEN command, hold E and use Close Pin codes or whatever it says now.
in other words it's NOT a toggle, there are two separate commands on the keypad, one for open, the other for close.

A lot of people make that mistake with the keypads at first.
BUT the doors I added 1 week ago or the previous are still working. I have no idea what is happening :S
I can open some doors, but not close them. My friend with the same pin code and the same remote keypad can open others and close them. And some doors are still not wanting to close nor open.
