Need some clarification on seasons pass

Hey guys, I want to get the Ark seasons pass so that I get the cosmetics but I've never purchased a seasons pass before and have some questions.

1. Why do they call it a seasons pass? Isn't it a permanent unlock for the DLC or is it temporary?

2. The seasons pass lists that it comes with Scorched Earth and Abberation for $30.14. I already own Scorched Earth so am I paying $30 for just the Aberration DLC and some cosmetics or is the seasons pass a pre-purchase for any future DLC that they release?

3. There is an explorer bundle listed under the seasons pass for $28 but again is just Aberration and Scorched Earth and I don't think it comes with the cosmetics so I guess that's why it's $2 cheaper?

4. Aberration is listed as a single DLC purchase option but has no price as it does not come out until tomorrow. Would it be cheaper/better to just wait until tomorrow and buy just the DLC that I am missing and forgoe the cosmetics?

5. When I go to purchase the seasons pass, it tells me that I already own Scorched Earth and that I will not receive a 2nd copy if purchasing for myself but stays the same price. Can I use the "purchase as a gift" option and then just use the code for myself and gift Scorched Earth to someone or is it 1 code unlocks all DLC and can't be split like that?


I guess I am just looking for some guidance on which package to purchase because I really want Aberration but don't want to buy Scorched Earth again for no reason. Thanks for any help you can provide!

You can either buy the Season Pass or the Explorer Bundle both will give you a discount if you already owe parts of it. Both give permanent Access to their contents.

You get a discount if you own scorched earth when you buy the season pass so you're paying $15 for each of the unreleased DLC Instead of $20

Actually I did read the entire store page and it said that there is a DLC planned for the spring of 2018 but the seasons pass doesn't explicitly say that it comes with it unless I read it wrong. Feel free to blow your brains out now though if this kind of post makes you that crazy because steam forums......


Nvm just re-read it and it does list the 3rd DLC as coming with the seasons pass. My bad but still, take a chill pill if forums aggrevate you so much. haha
