Ragnarok: Viking Bay Underwater Cave System

Thing is ridiculously impressive...and the above water cave system is...

I had to leave because the darkness scared me.


GG map devs on this cave. Reminds me of "The Cave" movie. Half expected some deformed winged creature to swoop down on me.

I've explored this cave system once, it has some dead ends AFAIR and one cave leads into the underground cave system beneath the swamp castle.
Very impressive, but a bit too dark IMO.

Are there mobs in there, or is it empty? Im working on going in there with an ascendant assault rifle and flame thrower...but im wondering if that is overkill.

I didnt hear anything skittering around when I came up through the water....but, I didnt exactly stay long....between the dark and the silence...it creeped me the ♥♥♥♥ out.

Megalasaurs and megalania can spawn in sections of the dark above water portions, never seen even a coel in the water. Its the perfect environment as you said for some Pitch Black or The Cave style monster to lurk (wink wink modders ). I stumbled into this section myself on a modded Alpha Otter and nearly drowned twice getting lost in there, if i had braught standing torches i would have lit a pathway in the cave to get out that way. Might just be time to return to that place.

On our Server we did build a large system of lights and signs to fight darkness and disorientation.
There is a lot of Crystal , Metal and Obsidian to be found down there.

Good to know. Guess I'll add a Rocket Launcher to my arsenal just to be safe lol.
