When you understand what the function of official servers are versus where the majority of players of the game play and as well the true intended function of the game itself, this all of this becomes a non issue. To put it to you bluntly: official servers are basic game features showcase servers nothing more. You're lamenting the state of welfare housing with suburban gated community expectations.
There should be several various rulesets beginning with 1 person tribe, no alliances and work up from there.
Release 1 test server per ruleset.
If you don't like that type of gameplay, join a clustered server where the Alpha may be open to good people creating a good community of like minded people. That will let you build up whatever you want in smaller groups.
Join unofficial where they potentially wipe the server every 2-6 months or the admins cheat whenever they want.
Or simply leave the PVP mindset. You don't have to play on a pvp server. After I got sick of the server invasions, I decided to stay on pve.
No. And the test server silliness has been beaten with a dead horse(seeing the most recent tiki torch bearer of it summarily pop for their antics in it). Its like asking for showcases for showcases.
26000+ unofficial servers do not wipe every 2-6 months. There are many that have existed longer than some of the official ones have without a single wipe to them. And "cheating" admin issues tend to reflect bad servers that most pretty quickly figure out(or can even tell just from the advertisements of some).
That's why you vette servers accordingly. Folks lament the state of the less than 700 official servers and they're welcome to, but they just need to understand that they're lamenting welfare housing with upscale suburban gated community expectations..... instead of actually bothering to find a good suburban community.
This server doesn't get wiped.
