I personally do not use any mods due to the fact that there is fair chance of them breakign with each core-game version update.
has anyone been able to find a fix for this yet? Our main map is on ragnarok an I would love to be able to play it without having to start all over with rebuilding :/
I tried many things, from reinstalling, verifying files, removing/reading mods, doing PC updates etc an nothing worked.
I noticed today though that my steam seemed to be stuck in a downloading loop with the 1.4gig update I saw someone else mention in another thread. He mentioned that THIS update allowed him to finally access modded servers. However, my steam wasn't allowing me to finish this update.
To fix this, I basicly had to reinstall, but this time, I had to do a bit more then just "uninstalling the game"
First I:
Uninstalled Ark
Unsubbed all my mods
Uninstalled Steam
Deleted all my steam folders
Reinstalled Steam
Reinstalled Ark
Resubbed/downloaded my mods
This time my game was able to actually get all the new patches that allowed me to access modded servers.. Thankfully I didn't lose anything from our non dedicated server, however all single player stuff was lost (though I didn't have much progress in this anyway so no harm done imo)
For those stuck getting the fatal error crash like I was an not able to get into your server ^ this worked for me. I havnt had any issues getting back in an things are now running smoothly.
Others who have this same issue please try closing steam and going to the steam\steamapps\ folder and deleting the appmanifest with the AppID relevent to Ark and then try running the update again. Should fix the issue without having to delete everything and re-install.
Glad you found a solution Blue!
