Tek Generator: Element or Shards?

Which is better? Does it drain them equally? Or every 10 shards at the speed of 1 element anyway?

Please let me know :) Unless the ability to use shards was removed.

100 shards = 1 element so it will use 100 shards in the same time as 1 element. Its usefull to use shards because you can turn the gen on and off without it costing 1 element. i would say use shards.
