Titanoboa Eggs
Well, 20 days after starting over from scratch i'm back to where i was when i left
Now level 81, I got everything i need to make kibble and/or store it.

I've tamed quite a few Max Lvls until now but...

I want a Max Lvl Thylacoleo, thing is, i can't find any Titanoboa eggs to tame one.

At first i thought, well, since these have no gender at all i should look for a lvl 150 Titanoboa and tame it so i can get them.

I found one and lured it all the way back to my base.

But then i read it... you can't tame these using regular eggs, they must be fertilized...

So now, i'm trying to get enough lystrosaurus eggs so i can tame a pair of Diplo's

Until then... is there any way i can farm these eggs from wild Titano's without building a gigantic pen for them? i don't have an Argent yet either, only a Pteranodon.

Farming wise for wild BOAS (not titanos as that refers to titans) make a floor of hatch frames elevated off the ground so you can crawl under to get eggs and walls of either door frames or walls (forget which ) that are about 3-4 high at least .You will need to get a argent , they arnt hard to tame or make a ramp to the top and make it follow you into the pit but that would be more trouble than its worth . Just to note that farms are kinda funky and they tend to disappear if a player isnt around them every so often so have to keep that in mind as well .

I suggest going through the swamp looking for eggs too as i generally fine at least 1-3 per swamp run .

Since you can now tame Titanoboas using eggs wont tame ones produce eggs, or can you only get them from wild ones?

Yeah they will but taming titanoboas is a pain if you don't have the required dinos.

They only eat fertilized eggs.

I'd do this but i can't stand taming underleveled dinos, i started the kibble chain and i don't want to break it.

One question though... how do you find wild boa eggs? i only need 6 more, i've been looking all over the place and i keep finding all sorts of eggs excepting the boa ones...

This is on SP, default rates.

If all you want are eggs from boas tame the low level ones. They require fewer fertilized eggs to tame, and it's faster as well. If you want a high level tame for a purpose, by all means. But grabbing lowbie ones as egg factories is easier.

When I'm off to find boa eggs in the wild I take a dino on a stroll through swampy areas. Then, I look for large groups of boas. After killing them look around a bit, and see if you can spot an egg or two in bushes or something.

Ah I didn't realised they required fertilized eggs. I just noticed them when I was looking through the DodoDex app the other day. :)

hum on a lvl 150 thyla you should try mutton. raw is better of course but even cooked one should give you the same than kibble i think (maybe 1 or 2 lvl difference if in taming x1). and you will win a lot of time that way.

According to the wiki, thylacoleos prefer cooked meat over raw meat. By the time you find enough sheep to gather and cook 120 lambchops, you may as well tame the titanoboas. On the other hand, setting up a sheep farm might be worth it.

cooked lambchops can stay in the fridge for weeks.
If you play on ragnarok you can gather enough for a 150 thyla in 15 minutes around the red obi.

Thisi s false. You need to use cooked lamb chops, otherwise taming effectiviness will fall significantly.

Lvl81 and no argent...fail

Even cooked mutton the TE is shockingly bad, like 16% TE compared to 90 odd for the snake kibble. If you just want 'a' Thyla then sure, use lamb chops, but if you want 'a really good' Thyla you're gonna need them eggses.

Edit: Lvl 89

You're right, i should have one by now, no eggs tho.

Didn't really need it tbh, the Ptera i was talking about earlier is a kibble tamed lvl 150 dino.

I didn't really go far from my base, it was always surrounded by one or two alphas and it was dangerous to let them live, so i always ended up leveling like 10 times per session.

I got one alpha rex to spawn here even.

That's the thing, i don't want to do that, i want them all to be perfect kibble tamed dinos.

Finding them is not the issue, getting the eggs is.

I found one egg yesterday, i'll keep looking but i won't tame useless dinos (they don't even give enough XP to the Troodon so they can't even be used for that)

I got a Lvl 150 Titanoboa trapped inside a pen, can't tame it yet because i need fertilized Diplodocus eggs (And these guys require Lystrosaurus eggs for taming, i don't have enough yet)

I made the mistake before, i tamed way too many underleveled dinos with bad taming efficiency, didn't want to kill them myself so i kind of just let them stay where they were, they took a lot of space and the egg production was not great, even with the mate-boost and the oviraptor buff.

For now i'm taming a pair of each dino species, unless they can't produce eggs or are genderless (like the Boas)

Levels have no impact on the egg laying rate by the way. My tribe usually does one male and 3-4 females for egg laying.
