Best Way To Defend A Base With Regular/Heavy/Tek/Plant X/Y Turrets?
As of putting this up there can only be a 100 turret limit, this includes regular turrets, heavy, tek, and plant X and Y (I believe Y counts).

To start off, yes if you live in a cave with only one or two entracnces (bonus: you have to crouch to get into the cave) with Heavy/Tek turrets it is much easier to defend and harder to raid, and if you have both plant x and y its even harder. Along with that if your online its easier to protect. But ive been thinking about tight vs. open spaces.

For tight spaces, not nessicerily in a very closed off cave, but a bit more open may actually be harder to defend than a more open kind of base. In a tight up base, with say the underwater air pockets on the Island (any of them), you can build some turret walls and a few smaller turret towers in there, but its easy to raid you once you blast through the main turret wall, yes? Consider a more open area like the underwater air pocket on Ragnorak.

So, currently ive been building in the roof / wall of the air pocket, its very large, and would be much easier to defend it if you could still build the 5 turret walls with 700 turrets of each of them, but since there is only 100 per a certain area it is harder to defend, right? Well (no i havent tested this, so feel free but i would like to know how it turned out if you would mind), if you placed 100 turrets (NO species Y) separatly, each connected with a separate generator would it be better?

So, i.e. 40 tek turrets and 60 heavy turrets each using a separate generator (excluding the tek), or some turrets connected to one or more generators, but not all are on the same grid. You would have to blow up/drain all those separated turrets, plus you can only fly so high out of the water, and you CANT bring fliers in, the best you can do is a grapple. This brings me to my point of why am I only giving examples of underwater caves? This is what my original though for my base was and I know more about the underwater caves than on land caves.
Now imagine you have full tek, but you still have the 40 tek and 60 heavy turrets at the entrance, and other turrets on your base, you have tek rexes, rock golems, gigas, etc. etc. etc. Doesn't that seem like it would be a very hard base to raid if say only 5-7 members were on at the time your raiding this base.

So to rap up, what is your idea on this idea, spreading turrets out so it takes more time and resources out of your enemies to raid you? If you do do this, please let me how it went! Comment on my profile or friend me and tell me how it went. Please excuse me if there are grammer, spelling, etc. errors, im not the best with writing.
