Tanking 100 Turrets!! You and Me!
Well im sure everyone is scattering looking for the best ways to tank 100 turrets, for the upcoming Ark Extinctsion pack :P Well my friends you should look no farther than this post right here. As fun as 4 stegos a couple brontos or a Doed/Turtle might be. I ask myself the question, why waste all that time taming something that will probably get sniped outside anyway , cause 100 turrets is maybe enough to protect a Bronto ,Or is it? I would state that not only 100 but 1000, or even 10000 have no chance against my Tank :D you see why even tame a turtle?
They are more tanky when they are dead :) GG WC, why dot you fix this one before you go and break your game permenently! HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

I wonder when people will realise that 100 heavy turrets = 1800 normal pre nerf turrets...

as soon as you realize that 100 heavy turrets is only 340 normal turrets damage-wise.
And you also have to spread them out to have anything even remotely resembling defense from all sides.

A heavy turret does 4 times the damage per shot and fired in 4 round bursts that means 1 heavy is 4.8 turrets in damage (Beacuse regular autos got a 20% boost and heavy are 4 Xs that) and fire's 4 times for you math nuts out there that's 19.2 turrets for 1! Also defense on all sides? DON'T BUILD IN AN OPEN FIELD!!!! My base has 2 viable attack directions: Above and from the front! And it's not small it's a 20X14X15 block with 6 of the floors being a honey comb... 100 heavy turrets is a viable defense (or in my base's case 90 heavy and 10 species X)

thats not how new Heavy turrets work.

They consume 4 bullets per one shot that deals 3.4x damage (400) of the normal autoturret (118). So they deal LESS damage per bullet than 4 normal turrets would have done.
They also explode with one c4 or one rocket despite having higher HP.

So what's with the videos online showing damage numbers significantly higher per shot? (Especially when said turrets use less ammo to kill dinos) And if this is the case what's the point of heavy turrets at all if normal do more damage?

The point is you are only limited to 100 turrets so 100 turrets that do over 3x the damage of 100 normal turrets is superior. But ark being ark anyhitng slightly better has disproportionate usage costs.

400 is the base damage, the higher numbers you're seeing are headshots.

Certain dinos (fliers, for example) also have less resistance to damage from turrets (guns in general) so they're going to receive more than 400 damage.

The heavy turrets do 4x the damage of the "old" auto-turret, they have not received the "new" auto-turret's damage bonus (hence 400 vs 118 - or 3.4%).

That being said, once the new limit is in place, heavy turrets will be the better option for defence (until you can afford to replace them with Tek turrets).

Why don’t we all just slow down. Giggle at the sadness of the OP’s screen shot as it demonstrates the true state of the game. Then wait for the new turrets to release sense we all know wild card will change their minds 30 more times between now and whenever the patch will ACTUALLY be released

At most they will separate Turrets and Plants, if they are sane enough...

LOL i find it funny you all get on a discussion about heavy turret damage, did you not read the post? LOL i dont care what kind of turret you have , it can be tanked with a dead body, not to mention this is a picture of Primitve+ play lol, which will get no heavy turret or plant X damage buff, it willbe the death of this game. P.S. it doesnt matter if you have heavy turrets that shoot 30 bullets at a time, wiht 10000 round capicity , when i can just hold a dead turtle to drain them all DUHHHHHH!!!!!!
