How to increase distance from host

My friends can't leave me without going to far, and I can't find a way to fix. please help.

I think that is an issue with playing on a non-dedicated server. Your friends join u where you are the local host. Your friends can only go as far as your own render range. U need to play on a dedicated server (official or otherwise).

Under [ServerSettings] in gameusersettings.ini add this line: (or edit if it's already there)

ListenServerTetherDistanceMultiplier=100.000000

That'll let your friends go anywhere on the map in non-dedicated mode. Keep in mind that if you have lots of friends it's going to seriously start impacting your own PC's performance as they spread out.

There are pros and cons to running a non-dedicated. If you are always going to stay together as a group, and your machine can handle it. Stick with the non-dedicated. However; if you guys want to split up and build different bases, then run a dedicated.

If you are technically inclined to do so, running your own dedicated is not difficult at all. If you have the money; just rent one. Or see if someone else can "rent" space on their server for you.

If you're on a unofficial server type 99.0 and then press enter in the settings menu before you log into the server where you have the distance option.

Well, there are people that still have that problem and if they google it they find this post. So it is still quite helpful :)
