Ragnarok Jungle too cold while raining (below freezing)
I have 80 fortitude and I'm in full flak. On every other map I can go anywhere except snowy mountains and not be cold, but on ragnarok I am cold, and freeze to death in shallow water while in the jungle region. It is not supposed to be cold here. It is a reccomended spawn area, but how are new players supposed to survive if they cannot go outside without freezing?

Hypothermic insulation from fortitude: 166
Hypothermic insulation from flak: 60
Total Hypothermic insulation: 226

In comparison fur armor has a hypothermic insulation of 249 so it's almost like I'm wearing fur armor to not freeze to death in the jungle.

EDIT: Ragnarok development cofirmed this is a bug

I build "emergency shelters", each with fireplaces/spare torches just in case. I only go in and out of murder & murder/murder snow for wyvern eggs/yuta tames with fria curry and cooked lamb late game.

Hell, I dive with stock scuba @ 40 so don't know how you're freezing with 80. Use the stuff they give you or don't go there until you can. It's tougher compared to the mundane cold of The Island but it's not THAT hard.

There are areas of Rags where I was freezing with 400 fort.

Yes, 400 fort!

Murder snow naked maybe. No need for 400 at all.

I know, but I was wearing standard hide at the time and this was just for a test. We were server wiping anyway so I mind wiped and said "come at me bro" with my 400 fort.

I was still freezing!

i dont wear flak i wear fur on rag almost competly, do a runs of the ice cave with a flyer if you still can and get decetn fur set, wount take very manny peaces to make it so you dont have to devote all your slots to fur.

if your playing PvE health isnt that important so i use 80 fort as well that way you don't have to wear fur all time whenever your going somewhere slightly cold it also helps a lot if you accidently get hit by a troodon or other torpor inducing creatures i found it a hell of a lot harder to survive in PvE when i used to use a high health build compared to this 80 fort one i havent died in over 6 months of playing and thats when i'm regularly doing wyvern egg runs, deep sea trips, cave runs and even a few boss arenas recently been playing on ragnarok as well and all i need to do is wear a fur hat then i can use whatever i want for rest of gear and ill only get cold if i go into murder snow area even if its raining

flak armor gives a bit of a boost to your cold resistance so if your a 80 fort build it is enough to keep you warm even in tundra area on center during day especially if its apprentice quality or higher

i agree you get more with other gear just saying on most maps you can survive in almost any area without having to worry about the temperature with flak gear and 80 fortitude its only ragnarok you can't but im not complaining about it just altered my gear slightly to compensate for the lower temp when raining

Yes.

@Nutcutt3r
I can go everywhere on other maps other than tops of snowy mountains and ice caves. I can even go to the snowy areas as long as I don't climb the mountain. I am in the jungle, the only hotter regions are volcanic and desert.

Here is some info on a tropical rainforest from: http://www.unique-southamerica-travel-experience.com/amazon-rainforest-climate.html

average annual temperature of 27°C (80.7°F).

There isn't such a thing as summer or winter, or it's not pronounced, the annual temperature range is about 2°C.

In fact, the difference between day and night temperature (2 to 5°C) is greater than the difference between any two seasons.

Upgrade Station, Full Flak fully upgraded without Sap can handle Murder snow -60 with 225 fort.... anyone says you can do it with less is full of ♥♥♥♥, It rains you freeze to death on the beach these days lol..... They should call it Acid rain, atleast then it would make sense as to why you die so easily lol

https://ark.gamepedia.com/Weather

Rain, which irrigates crops, refills water consumption, and allows the player to fill water containers like waterskins from anywhere outside. Rain also slightly decreases the temperature of the island, by only 3-5 °C / 5-10 °F. Note you cannot avoid rain by flying above the clouds.

---------

The temperature dropped 22 °C when it rained when it should only drop 3-5 °C (this is the bug on ragnarok)

It's a known bug. for those saying "are you sure!?!" YES. Stop questioning the OP. Whenever it starts raining, temps drop into the - degrees.

Please link the WC Dev post where they said it was a bug and not an intended change to the most challenging map.
