Ark: Remake? Dear Devs,
I'd like to start by saying what a wonderful time I have had playing your game.

I'm interested if you've considered starting from scratch and remaking the game. I can't help but to imagine what it could be. If the developers took their time and effort and really gave it a go to create a masterpiece!

They'd be heroes, really.

I have a passion for gaming and design, and an active imagination. I'm sure you could imagine the same thing, and understand what I'm talking about.

Thank you for your time!

Wallen

They havnt ruled out the possibility of a sequel for ark, but for now they are focusing on the current version and its DLC's.

Personally, i think ark went wrong (not saying its bad) with advanced tech. It should have stayed primitive with simple machines like windmills, water wheels and such. No guns, automated turrets, tek stuff ect. Instead focusing more on indept crafting for those primitive things.

Ark is what.. a couple of months old and already looking for the redux edition? Actually I was reading an interview from the devs last week where they talked about "Ark version 2". They still have stuff they want to complete with the current version and I believe at least one more DLC (if I remember right). But the did talk about how they have ideas and things they want to try in a new version. I wouldn't expect even early access until 2019.

I wouldn't be playing it then. What's wrong with having more options?
They said they want to do a sequel but in like a few years

It's just a thought a few of them said they'd like to do way in the future.

It was always meant to be this way and the advanced tech is was makes ARK unique from other dinosaur survival games. The tech and the Dino riding is what makes ark what it is

I think you're confused with D&L.....ARK is over 2 years now

No, you are just confused with the various cycles of a game's development because most games don't make their development stage open to the public but Ark did and that's what we played for 2 years. By your logic, Diablo 3 was an 11 year old game when it was released.

But OP here's the thing, when Ark was in development all anyone spoke about in these forums was how WC was taking too long to develop the game and demanding they release the game ASAP so this concept of devs having the option to "take their time" is pure fantasy. Even the gaming media crucified them for a relatively short development cycle and then they crucified them for releasing a game that wasn't finished.

Damned if you do, damned if you dont.

Honestly, I've lost all confidence in WC Devs and will never give them another red penny. I was one of the people that defended them all throughout the "alpha" phase of the game (not sure the game ever went through Beta unless that is what the "released" game is now). I was sure they were smart enough and competent enough to flesh out the game and fix all the glaring glitches and bugs. But there are still bugs in this game that have been there since day one and WC does nothing to even acknowledge the bug exists or if they are ever going to fix it. It seems like all the patches lately is to nerf one thing or another because they have no sense of game balance.

Maybe I expected too much or maybe they dreamed too big but either way, the result is the same; a sub-par game riddled with bugs and glitches that the devs do not seem interested in fixing. Only releasing more bug filled content that they want us to pay for and will likely never fix.

Well, fine. There are hundreds of games out there based on extreme futuristic mega weapons and big ugly bosses. And those games do that so much better than Ark. Why not go play those games?

Many of the problems/complaints with Ark are based on those mega weapons and big ugly bosses.... jet packed Master Chiefs coming up against loin clothed spear chuckers on the beach. This is made worse by the amount of time needed to advance.

The game has changed greatly since Summer of 2015. It used to be a slow strategic progression of survival. Now, with the ability to dramatically and rapidly increase experience, the survival mode is just a few hours. From that point on it's just accumultate the appropriate HP and melee.

The devlopers don't seem to have a well thought out coherent vision of what the game was to be.
Consequently, it is becoming a poorly done mish mash of several different games, none of which arte done well.

Thanks for all your replies. Lots of interesting thoughts. :)
Seriously with Mod you can literaly remake the whole game depending on how much time you want to spend. You hate the game well get the editor and start editing !

I think one my main issues is the character design and animation, as well as how characters interact with the environment. it's just clunky...

If they did remake the game it would be splendid if they did so with an up to date version of UE
