I believe the area is called thunder bay in the southern region of the map, near to the wall that stops you going into the unfinished part of the map.
There is a large hole in the floor which leads to a nice little enclosed water part, which is a great place to store smaller water creatures like Megalodons and Basilosaurs. You may get 1 squid and 1 Mosasaur in there too, but it will be a bit of a squeeze.
There is also an epic amount of obsidian and 6 oil deposits for you to put oil rigs on, There's a bit of metal floating around that area too.
I'll load my game and take a few more screenshots to show you the area.
It is well suited to anyone that needs a lot of space but the main attraction for me is that land dinos can't get up there so all you have to do is block the wild and alpha spawns and you're golden. I built a ramp down on the castle / swamp side.
There is also a loot beacon on that raised area, 1 below and several very close by so it is a very good spot for people that use the transfer system a lot. Fair bit of metal around there too.

The area is called Thunder Peak, it's pretty good there, especially if you're using S+, as you may need to stack foundations to create level ground, but it's got a lot of space and really good access to the water.
