DInos stop eating during tame...
Hello everyone. I searched the forums and the responses I found were from a few years ago but not the same bug.

We are on a server and we start taming the dino...at a radom time, they will stop eating while taming. Sometimes it will "update" if you go out of render and come back...sometimes it won't. Along those same lines, we were trying to breed dinos and it would not say "Currently mating with..." It would just say, "Ready to mate." but then an egg would be created.

We do play with mods and I can list them if necessary.

This, this is happening to me too on Ragnarok, what mods do you have?
Eminence Oct 16, 2017 @ 3:37am
It is a bug that can occur even on unmodded servers. I suggest trying the following steps to resolve it.

1. Remove the food from it's inventory and then replace it.
2. Try having everyone leave render range and then come back.
3. Remove food. Put a few pieces back and force feed them. Put the rest back.

These things have resolved the issue for me in the past, although I have no advice for a permanent solution, just the workarounds that have helped me.

I have seen people say it started when they "optimised feeding timers" but cannot confirm or deny this.

Never seen that.
But once i wanna tame a Bronto...and he haven't eat the kibble. I had to let him wake up and torpor it again to get it to work.

I think its releated to the generall laggy taming bars.
For example if you mate 2 dinos...the bar is extremely laggy. Sometimes it takes 3 minutes to refresh the bar.
The same for the taming bar, fertilized egg bar and so on.

They made this processes somehow asynchronous... which is causing this issues.

This does not seem to work, it seems to not matter and simply "update" the tame bar once the creature has been out/lost enough food to finish taming. loke Toooni said, it takes several minutes for taming and breeding bars to update.

I play on a private server with virtually no lag, so my issue may be unrelated to yours. If I come across any other information on the issue I'll post it here though.

I would still like to know what mods DrFalken is using. I use Bush People, Member Berries, and RP funature and medical supplies.

I get this on official. Just stay with it. Breeding, keep hitting the button. Feeding, just be patient. I have seen this a lot, especially with passive tames. They eat one and then there's a delay before eating the next but them they just go.

I don't know if its server lag or just blotchy dinos but its always worked out with some patience.

We have a rented unofficial server, and I am seeing this with mating dinos. Its probably just lag so as long as your dino doesn't wake up, and you have enough kibble for the tame level, I would just let it go ahead and tame even if it says its not.

use dododex website or smart phone app to confirm timers so you will know if it really isn't working past the calculated time.

This is mostly true, the unloading and reloading helps sometimes but I watched an argy get down to 2250 food of 3600 and after it was almost awake it started eating again, when it tamed there was still 400 extra food missing, but it tamed so patience works almost all the rest that other tricks miss on

You can most readily see this issue on servers that use some sort of mod that has a food/dart that drops food to zero so that they'll eat and tame up faster. Recently(as along time ago this didnt happen), with such food, they'll start to eat at regular intervals then all of the sudden just stop and a few min can go by before they start eating again(even with the food meter at say half).

There is some broken internal system with taming. I have a theory it is due to how they imbedded passive tames system but its just speculation on my part because it anecdotally seems to mirror the time intervals for passive tames(after the insane long wait after a first bite mind you).

It was cuase I was using Bush People mod on Ragnarok

I see it all the time on official. Just be patient.

Litterally I took out bush people and even added back in member berries and RP Furniture and Med Supplies mod and havent had the issue. I believe it may have something to do with the update in June that was supposed to optimize timer checks and the fact of many spawns caused by BP mod and on official, with many people on is what is causeing this taming bar lag, see if you find a correlation to online population and the bug happening.
