How to not die from a therizinosaurus.

Hey I keep dying form these stupid dinos. I tamed a ptera and one came and killed all my dinos. :(

There are a lot of ways to defend yourself. A little information about your situation will help give the most relevant ones.

1. Official or unofficial server?
2. Solo or do you have a tribe?
3. What level are you?
4. Is the problem at your base or when out in the wilds?
5. What it any tames do you have now?
6. What level of structure after you building with?
7. What map are you playing on?

Most Tickle Chickens (Theri's) seem to have a fairly small aggro range that i've noticed. I usually just stay away from them and they don't bother me.

Easy GTFO when ever you see one.

1. Build a Cage out of Stone Pillers. They will Auto Snap a specific distance a part from eachother. Tickle Chicken is too big to fit between Pillers. Make the Box 2 Pillers Tall just to be sure. Leave one of the Middle Pillers Open.
2. Build a large Bear Trap. (easy just requires metal) Not required but it can help a lot.
3. Have a Fast Dino Mount, a Raptor works great, but a similar fast ridable Dino also works.
4. Intentionally anger the Tickle Chicken and Lure it to the Trap, Run around it so you're opposite of the entrance you want it to enter, and it will run right in, and get stuck in the Trap.
5. Even if you don't use a Bear Trap quickly get off the Raptor (Make sure it's passive) run around to the side you left open and quickly place the piller, then place the second.

Viola, you now have a trapped Tickle Chicken, you can later tame it if you want. =D

Dude I had a base right next to a theri spawn point so we just put spikes around it and we never got bothered just gotta do a little bit of maintenence every once in a while and ur good to go.

Yeah, but they surrounded my base (it was on a cliff and backed up against the wall but they somehow got to both sides) so I tried to lead them away but then I ran out of sttamina and my raptor and I both died. Then I had to lead the other one to the ocean. It doesn't help that I got attacked by three pegumastaxes at once which stole my bow and all of my tranq arrows.

was the raptor the fastest dino you had? Also the theri arent really that fast and lose agro easily.

put the rapty on peaceful and follow and get in the damned water they are slow af when swimming. You will be able to get the into the coean lsoe agro and then GTFO out of there on ur nice rapty.

I tried. I got cornered on my way to the water. It was on one of those beaches with really dense palm trees and rocks.

It wasn't the fault of game mechanics, just really bad luck.
