Easy way to get crystal?

I live on the west coast (island) and idk if theres some kind of random crystal node out in the open. IK you can go in caves and on mountains to get them, but.. you know... theres only so much an iguanadon can do. I need crystal to make spyglasses and water jars PLES I NEED TO EXPLORE THE JUNGLE FOR MORE THAN 5 MINUTES AT A TIME

On top of mountains there is Crystal. There is even a little bit in the far south on top of a hill. The higher up you go the more Crystal you will find.

Just go to the Cave of the Massive, I know you can't go too far into it... but there is plenty in the caves entrance.

Just head up to the snow biome on the nw coast on a raft. Crystal is all over the place.

If you're lacking in the fur gear to tackle the snow, you can either hit the couple that are in the open at 75, 47 or one of the 2 caves (I like SE lava cave since they're right at the entrance before you encounter any mobs and its right on the beach.)

Who needs fur.. lol Just build a raft and put several campfires and torches on it. Then you stay warm. Jump off for a few minutes and run and grab the crystals along the coast and then run back and warm up again.
