Dino level & summon
Hey guys. I'm hosting a server for ASIAN side. But main thing here is that as of now, i got most things up and ready. Was playing around with the RCON commands for admin. I have trouble with GMsummon and limiting the dino level to at least level 500. Right now, i can summon my griffin to level 15000.

Question is, is it normal or is there anything that i need to change in my GameUserSettings.ini such as OverrideOfficialDifficulty=x.x? As of right now, my OverrideOfficialDifficulty=8.2 and my official difficulty is 1.5.

I would like to set my summon dino level to MAX 500. and my wild dino to max 300 so when players tame, they can reach at least a level less than 500.. hope you guys can help me out here!

Why are you trying to limit the max spawn of an admin command?

I just want to limit the level of my dino spawn

The nature of admin commands is to allow you to usurp the typical rules... so no... you won't be able to configure the spawn command to an arbitrary limitation (as they exist to ignore that limitation in the first place).

You can, however, summon a dino at such specific levels. So you could impose an "honor" system where no admin can spawn something larger than 500... But that's about it.

As to wild dinos limited to 300. That is configured using the setting you mentioned.

I see. so about the settings on wild dinos limited to 300 level before tamed, what will my settings be? how do i increase my taming effectiveness to at least +40 to +whatever number? and after my players level up, how can i make sure they have reached the max level of their tamed animals?

Right now, when summon my griffin and give it to my admins, friends, we can level them up until 600 which i do not want.

Any tame will be able to level up a set amount of levels (I think that is somewhere between 80 and 120, don't recall the exact value) which is determined by the game (though there are mods and ways to configure around this). So to limit the maximum dino lvl, spawn it bellow the lvl cap threshold. Which will be the tamed dino lvl + lvl cap.

To calculate what setting you need for 300 max lvl wild spawn use this formula.

(Actual dino lvl [1-30]) * OverrideOfficialDifficulty = dino lvl

In your example
30 * X = 300

On officials
30 * 5 = 150

Will try this out. Does this apply for gmsummon too?

No. Again, being an admin command it will ignore normal limitations when told to.

You will need to follow the "honor" system I recommended before.

Alright. what is the specific name for the actual dino lvl? like overridedifficultyoffset is to override but for actual dino lvl?

actual dino lvl is hard coded (1-30) and is used in the calculation. if you chose to overide the dificulty to 10 then lvl 1 will be 10, 2 will be 20 and so on untill lvl 30 at 300.

you do not overide anything other than the seeting you have already changed.

I did chage the overrride. I put it to 20 but it doesnt change. Still see lvl 135 max. Dodo at 135 parasaur at 140. I remove the default difficultyoffset. Not sure to leave it or put both default n override together
