Rock Elementals...**** off
They're everywhere...and if you're at a low level you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you're ambushed by one and your entire herd of tamed dinos die...you live but all that damn work down the drain in taming them. Is there a way to kill them without high leveled gear like Missle Launchers and cannons?

just avoid large rocks?

Hate to say it but game is working as intended. I get the frustration, but thats all part of the survival aspect.

Also to help with avoiding large rocks, try to avoid mining without weight mounts that can kill a golem or speed/weight mounts that can outrun the golem

Oh, thats a problem, I would only go up there with a flier (even a moth will do), but otherwise I geuss just tame something fast

I know...it's just heart breaking to watch your Megatherium lv51 go down like that xD and even when you manage to run away on the saddle...a damn rock finishes it off xD

...I actually never though of that in my near 300 hr experience, thanks mate xD but...those moth things are useless right at carrying?

Yeah, I would reccomend using dodics to mine, then use a larger, faster dino lower down the mountain to escape, when a golem pops out, roll away to the larger dino, put the dodics on follow (they arent that important) and never look back

if on scorched earth, just use flyers, since dodics are non-existant

pretty poor, but might be enough to shuttle up and down a mountain with some time

Without tranq darts...how many arrows does it take roughly to knock them unconcious when bola'd? say 20? the only flying dino i've ever used was the Argentavis on Island

Depends on the level, according to the wiki:
7 arrows for level 1
17 for level 30
28 for level 60
39 for level 90
50 for level 120
61 for level 150

so 20 should be plenty for a low level one, just watch out for spores

I wonder if dropping spores on rock golems slows them like most creatures
Here's a tip, when you're in the mountains, don't the large orange rocks that occasionally shift when loading in seem a little suspicious?
Adapt and survive

Argents. Good carry weight, good stamina. Fly in, mine your crystal, fly out. Have the bird on passive. It's not rocket science. Also, it's impossible to play this game without any losses ever. Like any game.

Well what I mean is I find one mountain with absolute tons of metal on, so I take one route and there's a rock rock...so I go around another route and there's another damn rocky fella, I lost 2 direwolves and one morellatops the first route so I learned that time 20 shotgun shells to the face don't work.

The other route I had 1 Ankylo, 1 morellatops and 1 megatherium left and the trip was going fantastic until a rock golem comes up again. I ordered them to be passive and run but that previous nearly destroyed all my dino's, so being sniped over a giant boulder with a giant rock killed them all except for my Mega stayed to fight and I couldn't do anything because damn Microraptors dazed me long enough for my Mega to die but I got outta safely...mostly. All ive got now is a Jerboa and Thorny Dragon both Lv35.

It was the worst luck i've had on it so far.
