Although I will admit that the sounds suxs in ARK. I only have 2.1 when the game starts, but it goes to 5.1 when I'm in the game.
Ok thanks but the sound turns off if you could give me some steps on how to fix that would be great in 2 days but
Also your speaker type could help, (atleast for others finding answers for you), I'll assume you have a fancy headset or speakers that probibly has its own drivers which might need updating... Stuff like that seems to always cause issues on ark for people.
I have just a gaming laptop with the normal mic in it if I was to fix it I would need help with what your telling me thanks
If you think it might be the game, try verifying the integrity of your game through Steam. Right click icon in your library, click properties, click local files. You'll know what to do when you get there. If any files are missing, Steam automatically handles it. And don't be surprised if you have 2 missing files. I always have and the consenus here is the mods.
If you thinks its your laptap/speakers configuration, no matter the Windows version, look in the lower right-hand corner of your desktop, you know, very bottom. See that speaker? If your laptop can handle it (and my 4yo processor barely can) open your speaker icon while in game. You want sound. Make sure you have the correct speakers checked. If not, do so. Make sure they are the default. If they're already checked, go ahead and check their configuration. This is how I found out its the game and not the sound/speakers. If everything checks out, most likely its the game.
Also, do you have a sound card? If so, update your drivers and then try the game. If your sound is "on-board" then go to Windows update and try to update only your sound.
Sorry for the wordy reply and good luck!
UnReal Engine 4 + Surround Sound headsets don't get along.....it's not just an ARK issue. ;)
Pancake hat bunny is disturbing? LOL!! I can see that.
And no, I'm not. I race vintage motorcycles.......
