Stupid question about lava
Are fire wyverns immune to it? 'cause I was riding mine in the lava canyon of ragnarok, when suddendly i lagged a little and touched a lava fall. I died instantly, got a griffin and come back to see if my equipment was salvageable (spoiler: it wasn't) and my wyvern is nowhere to be found, but my tribe's log doesn't say anything about her death. I then tamed a dodo and threw it in the lava: message of death appeared. So i'm asking: is it possible that the fire wyvern survived the contact with the lava and fleed far away from the point where i've lost her? (btw, private server, ragnarok map, classic flyer mod and the wyvern was 150% speed)

No idea. Easy to test though with console commands.
Start a Single Player level, or use an existing one and ensure your gear is stored away.
Spawn a Fire Drake. Use a take command on it. Mount up. Put the drake in lava. Bring marshmallows.

On Scorched Earth the lava does only little damage to entities, not sure if Fire Wyverns are immune to lava there, never tested.
On Ragnarok the Lava does massive damage against entities, it's pretty much almost insta-kill.
In the dungeons the Lava does 5000 damage per tick for some strange sadistic reason, so if you trip - its over.
Wish they would reduce that to regular rates such as 70dmg for shallow lava and 235 for deep lava, so one could survive a short contact.

I did this once on SE. Never saw it again but never got death message either so no idea what happened to it. Likely died and death message bugged.

Yes, it flew up and then landed somewhere. Lava has the same effect as water in that you dismount into ot and die and your flyer flies straight up. The wyvern probably took 2k-4k damage from the level which I bet isn't enough to kill it.

on The Island Fire Wyverns are immune to lava, you can literally lay in it and it wont hurt the wyvern, I came here wondering if Rag was the same.
DymNym Feb 13, 2018 @ 6:32pm
They are not immune to lava on Rag for sure. You can watch wild ones land right in the lava and kill themselves on Rag, I see them do it all the time. For some reason is doesnt register like water to them and theyll land right in the lava and die. Ive had a few times where some of my dinos just poofed after I died in the trench, I think it is just a bugged death message smetimes like Cobretti said.

But having "short contact" shouldn't be fatal, it's not like lava is an instant killer IRL...
