best ways to farm oil?

we are on the center we are not able to tame dunkleo atm and we cant really go for SE to farm oil there.

Some of the deeper areas of the rivers have some oil in them.

Yea the rivers is where i get mine, i use a raft that an anky can board from the water and dive for it.
The anky carries hide and fiber for raft repair, storage boxes get destroyed too easy from the first few leeds hits.
The anky has no problem killing leeds and the other toothy fishes, i have a good argentavis riding along for other threats.
Quetzal and anky in the snow mountains would work too.

The tops of the two snow capped mountains have tons of oil. You pretty much need a flyer and fur armor to get that oil, but it is plentiful. I made one run and got over 600 oil with an ordinary metal pick axe. With an Anky or something you could potentially clean house.

beetles and those dolphin whale things passive produce it. can also kill the dolphin whales and harvest for a good chunk.

I tamed a dunkleosteus every time I go out i get 5k oil easy and can kill lvl 24-40 lvl alpha meg pretty easy as well just slow so and stam is a thing so pump stam and speed you should be ok or use a anky they are good at getting oil set up a small outpost in the snow area =)
