Ark is more demanding on your system than any game you have already played.
Running it on a AMD 965 Black with a GTX 1080 and it handles it just fine.
The problem is that the VR is not well coded. Practically no 2d elements, which means menus, the hot bar, everything that isn't 3d. Riding on dinos is dizzying and make induce nausea.
If I recall correctly, there is NO head tracking, so you're going to have to manually look around with the mouse, which will also make you move in that direction (sort of).
Basically, Ark *technically* supports VR partway, but it is a real headache... literally. Don't pick this up for a VR experience. If you already have it and a headset, check it out for kicks, but you probable won't play it for more than a few minutes before returning to playing off of a regular screen.
Think of the Crysis games years ago
But you'll be able to run it just fine.
With VR, thats a diffy story.
I have to admit it was really cool to actually see one of my dodos walking in front of me in VR, so I wont have to mention how awesome and imposing it was to look my triceratops in the eyes!
But unfortunately to really play the game is impossible in the state it is in.
Also heard they not really working on the VR part anymore as they are focusing more on a standalone VR title. So here is hoping that will be good :-)
