HOW to build a ceiling ON a DINO GATE?
question in title. see screenshot
the ceiling you see on top left is where I NEED it to be to place plant x but the pillars and ceiling next to it (on the right inside the raft) need to be deleted. Once I Delete the pillars and ceiling on the right... the ceiling on the left gets destroyed... solution?

You can try building up one of your wood walls and attach the ceilings to that. (Or place a wooden wall within the dino gates and snap off that.)

Ceilings need to be connected to foundations/pillars; either directly or (more commonly) by being connected to walls/ceilings connected to walls connected to foundations/pillars. Dino gates do not count as supporting parts.

Build fence foundation below the gateway, then put gateway ontop of the fence foundation. It'll hold up the ceilings that way.

Did they change something? I thought even walls wouldn't hold ceiling if they're on fence foundations.

Ceilings require Foundation or Pillar support. To build a wall over a gat you must have a nearby wall and hang the ceilings from that. If it is over foundations you should be fine. If there are no foundations you will need pillars every 3rd ceiling.

Actually, you can space out pillars 5 spaces apart, can remove the 3rd pillar from between.

Totally! You just have to have that pillar on the third untill you get the 5th ceiling placed...then just like you said, knock out the middle. The only problem with that is if you try to go 5x5 you might have issues with the middle (diagonals).
