The Island Ice Cave...

What's the best method to get through this cave? Love to fight the dragon.

I saw a video where someone made some kind of bunkers throughout the cave and would camp inside them shooting the bats. I'd imagine a few wolves would handle this cave just fine though, maybe bring some dimorphs on follow to help with the bats? Just try to stand back and let your dinos handle the bats, maybe shoot with a longneck for support, if you ride on the wolves then the bats can still hit you while mounted

used to do it with a shotgun, and a grapling hook, with food to deal with temp drops and fur.

make a small base with many beds near the cave, enter naked keep luring the mobs to a corner to clear the path......need to do it for many times, then you can enter the cave naked by running with about 165% speed without issue.
you need to understand well the structure of the cave, where you should lure the mob to.
i find this way is the best, the mobs will always be there at the corner even after many days till they are killed by someone.

Realize they replaced bats with bears and Purlovias.

And in PVE you can not build inside cave .

Yep. Any way I can power through it? Maybe a couple rocket launchers and my mastercraft Longneck, Crossbow and Simple Shotgun (Ascendant)?

Alongside some grapples to get on the ceiling?

Grapple is very useful, but be aware some parts have low ceiling and purlovias will knock you down, if you get mauled by bears while stunned you are dead XD

Its one of the hardest caves, definitely go prepared. Its the only cave I make food for (curry), bring plenty of cooked meat too. Spare armor, nice amount of ammo (shotgun is a good option, yeti's and bear's have plenty of hp), and sleeping bags.

I havent tried bringing tames, other than a shoulder mount, doubt much would fit either, the entrance is tight.

Yep. Even bred a Rex inside with an apprentice saddle. Died to a gang of Polar Bears while I was away. -_- (It was enclosed in a stone behemoth pen)
