second, when you try to put the wood ceiling it turns to green and snap to the structure but you can't place it or it stays in red even in the snap points? or you can't even find any snap point in the structure?
if stays in red placed in the snap points then it could be you are out of range of the pillars to support the structure so you have to place some more pilars, if turns green but you still can't place it, then, it's possible that some other structure is obstructing the ceiling even if it's not an obvious one, sometime that happens with the roofs and the ramps, you can then destroy the
roofs or ramps next to that point and try again after that you can place the structures again in place, finally, if you can't find any snap point and you are playing without mods it could be some kind of bug.
Im pretty sure his issue is due to his building from two different sides of the building and one with building up from a pillar and the other from bulling up from a foundation or ceiling or similar. This has been an issue for 2+ years that snaps for different pieces are not on the same equal plane always and deceptively to the eye can be a bit subtle to notice until the issues like the OP is mentioned. Its not soley specifically an issue that affects mods only. Vanilla structures have the same issue.
Depends on the priority of height. You may want to attach wood ceilings to the stone then when it requires a pillar to build down from there with a pillar(if applicable) Otherwise from the picture, if you build from the wooden pillared celings all the slop/ramp etc are going to be raised slightly above the wood ceiling.
Overall as a future rule of thumb be it gates or be it housing etc. Build from one side and work all the way around to finish from there. Dont try to do from two different sides assuming it will be flush/snapped. On vanilla only servers, I have been known to start with building the docks of a base to then build backwards from there the building that it will attach to for better/optimal smooth symmetry. Base parameter walls around such a base (also gain starting in the water then going up around on land) too.
