if you're having issues, add the line "ResourceNoReplenishRadiusPlayers=1.0" to your game.ini with "[/script/shootergame.shootergamemode]" at the top. this is a percentage of a set radius around a player where the resources start spawning again. reduce this to 0.6 or so, and that will reduce the 'no respawn bubble' that surrounds your player, so you don't need to get out of render distance for things to return..
in your gameusersettings.ini look at arguments for
ResourcesRespawnPeriodMultiplier=1.0
StructurePreventResourceRadiusMultiplier=1.0
the first is the resource respawn rate multiplier. reducing this increases spawn rate, increasing it reduces the spawn rate of resources. crank that down to .5 or .3 for fast resources.
structure prevent is for how close resources can respawn next to your base or foundation blocks. if you want resources a bit closer to your base, reduce this multiplier to decrease the no respawn bubble around your base. if you decrease it too much though, boulders will respawn inside your base lol.
Find the sliders for resource respawn, it might be under the advanced tab and lower that down. there is also a player spawn prevention setting that would help if you lower that too. I really wouldnt mess with the structure one too much unless you are building next to important resources. (and for reasons mentioned above as well)
The player prevent resource spawn setting will make it so they can respawn while you are around the spawn area. Otherwise just lower the respawn period and then just fly out of render range and back in depending on the period of time you set. Be careful though as resources could spawn on top of you and your dinos and potentially cause you problems if you lower the player prevents setting.
These setting are all in the options menu before you launch a single player game. They may be in advanced section, but they are all next to eachother. I would just lower the spawn period and then just flying out of range for a minute or two will cause everything to respawn once you go back.
No messing around with files needed anymore for changing this on sp and many more settings.
There are other issues as well; rocks respawn exponentially slower than trees, which in my default rate SP game take a few hours out of sight (although you can watch from a great distance).
The metal I mined 20 hours ago has not respawned despite multiple trips accross the entire map.
Good news, the rates are quite high now so plenty of metal per node.
This has been a well known issue with singleplayer for a long time.
It's a wonderful idea but A) it's demonstrably failing, and B) it's rather inconvenient.
Built a base near (a dozen foundations away at least) a huge cluster of metal on The Center, after mining it. At least ten hours spent in the area building, farming etc. No respawn yet.
My first base, also near a cluster i mined 80ish hours ago, is 60 to 120 foundations away from its node. No respawn.
Perhaps more specific distances would help?
