Ragnarok Caves
Are the caves incomplete? I've only checked out a handful so far but they've all been empty of beasties and really not much materials to speak of. I did check out the snow crystal cave and that seems plentiful but still nothing to defend myself from?

The redwood cave I walked up and took the relic, is it supposed to be that easy?

Try the jungle one. It is the hardest by far.
Did you kill all the ice worms and the Queen in the snow cave?

The one in the redwoods and the Highlands with the Artifacts do seem a bit underwhelming since all you do is walk in and get the artifacts. Maybe those will change with the update to make it a challenge.

Ragnarok is still very incomplete. Thats why Im saving it for last in my Single Player playthough, so it had time to become more complete.
Im on the Island, then once Ive gotten through enough there Ill move on to Scortched Earth. Then The Center prolly for some funsies. Then Ragnarok last.

The map is not even 50% complete yet. It should have never been released as an official DLC in its current state. Rag is going to need at least another 6-12 months of development before it will be close to complete in my opinion. There are non-DLC maps that are far more complete than this one.

Oh there must be another snow cave to check out next time i'm on then. I visited the crystal cave, was just a long cave full of crystals with two entry points. Thanks for the tips.

The Jungle Cave looks pretty finished to me.
The Ice Cave is looking somewhat finished to me, although one of the latest patches made outside terrain visible inside the cave - awful.
Other caves look more like "you can build here" to me, like the one you described where you just grabbed the artifact.
There is another giant cave system below the castle, with two artifacts to recover.
Plenty of Megalanias and Megalosaurus spawning down there and its absolutely dark most of the time.
