Phoenix
I don't know why people are hating on the Phoenix. It's got so many more pros than cons.

Cons:
-Can't land
-Low weight
Edit: Does take a lot of sulfur, however this isn't a very rare resource on Scorched Earth, can easily get 100 per node.
Edit: weight has been fixed, sulfur consumption is way down. This just leaves it not being able to land.

Pros:
-All attack set enemies on fire
-Can spit a fire ball, which in addition to doing damage and setting things on fire, does not aggro the enemy, so it could be used to win any battle (especially against someone's neutral tame) without the enemy fighting back or running
-Living furnace, cooking 4x faster than a campfire and smelting 4x faster than a basic forge
-While having mediocre stamina, the drain is so low (while not boosting) that it can be forgiven, not to mention it doesn't lose stamina while hovering and doesn't need to land to regain stamina and thus can escape quicker than other flyers
-Holding spacebar activates a charge attack, which not only makes the Phoenix the fastest flyer other than a griffin after a perfect dive, but also sets anything it passes on fire while charging
-Poops 15 silica pearls a pop, not to mention it poops every 4 seconds while flame charging
-Can harvest any node with c, meaning it can collect metal and then smelt it right afterwards.
Edit: It can't harvest metal from metal nodes, only rock. However, it can harvest metal from obsidian, which it then directly smelts.
-Heals completely if it even touches fire, meaning pairing this thing with a fire wyverns or even a flame thrower makes it a 100% win scenario if you do everything right.
-Looks cool
Edit: Phoenix can damage stone structures (Not much, but with all the complaining its bound to get buffed)

So I'd say it's already really really good. A weight buff and the ability to land would pretty much remove all its flaws.
Edit: Now it just needs the ability to land, which the lack thereof is an inconvenience at worst.

The fire spitting attack doesn't do anything as far as I can tell. :<

Sets things on fire, leaves a cloud of fire on the ground to set more things on fire, and doesn't aggro anything

If they improved the weight, even just a bit, and fixed the bug on the fireball ability since it doesnt seem to do dmg atm and fixed the bug so if you have the tek jatpack on you can still use the speed boost with space bar, I'd be completely happy.

Right but atm it doesn't actually seem to do dmg or set anything on fire, it seems to have no effect at all just a visual effect.

Tried it on a scorpion, it walked through without taking any damage or setting on fire. Gonna go try Jerboas.

EDIT: Nope. Jerboa lived then looked at me funny.

the setting enemies on fire perk does not match or even come close to the damage done by an equivelant level bird so althrough pretty doesnt amount to much. what would be a simple flyby and eat in a fight which lasts a few seconds and in many cases one hit with an argente becomes an epic battle for not wasting stamina with the phoenix...

when not locked in a cage as a furnace / campfire the phoenix stamina drains rapidly eating up sulfur which unlike meat which is everywhere only spawns in specific locations especially in ragnarok restricting its uses as a mount.

its speed is horribly slow without using the spacebar which can easily eat hundreds to thousands of sulfur trying to cross any noteworthy distance.

although on paper the phoenix sounds amazing when you actually try to use it ingame it feels like its a creature that was intended just to be a companion or a shoulder mount which was in the last minute made into a mount .... maybe because thats what actually happened

wuuut...

-You can't use them in battle bc he need a saddle to reduce damage...
-low hp
-he eat like the pigs so fast...
-he need sulfure
-the weight is so bad..
-you dont need so much pearls in PVE, or even if you need you can literally pick them from the ground in SE...
-you can't move the phoenix from SE...
- you can hit and set on fire other dino accidentally....
- can't land
- when he DIE, he DIE, can't reborn like the "phoenix"...

I have one on my server and i transfered it over to rag. When he is full he doesn't eat at all. I would like a hp buff and a weight buff then it would be perfect. It is however a pain in the ass because you have to wait for heat storms to even find one and tame it

They're slow, except when charging - but the turn radius is the worst in the game and uses up food insanely fast.

They cannot wear saddles, and so are easily torn apart by anything, plus with thier low hp (though slightly increased I suppose) and inability to get rider bonus means they die very quickly if solo.

They only eat sulphur, which they cannot harvest or carry much of.

They cannot land.

They cannot be bred or get mate boost.

They cannot pick up dinos in comparison of fliers of a similar size.

They cannot carry anything with their extremely low base weight.

They are only obtainable during one very short, uncommon weather event and vanish as soon as the event is over if not tamed.

They cannot be bola'd or chain bola'd, so taming them in the air is difficult.

They lose tame efficiency very fast.

Their taming mechanic, though unique, is annoying.

Their attacks are broken or worthless.

Their "useful" mechanics are all done in better ways by other, more easily obtained dinos/structures.

They're only found on one map, which you have to pay for.

Lots of reasons to dislike them. They were a half-baked consolation prize much hyped by the devs only to turn out to be terrible.
