*The entire post was edited after retesting multiple phoenixs from multiple lvls after all the patchs*

Before the patchs i found the phoenix was a disgrace a clear 1/10 in usefulness same score as a spider.
After the patchs i have found it's usefulness has risen by alot 5/10 (same score as a wolf).

It's only issues right now are:

Health is still about 30% too low with 19 points it's 1,920,
The weights still 33% too low,
stanima is 33% too low,
The flames + colors look really cartoony they are in huge need of saturation,
when using flame boost (aka super speed) you cant see where your going due to the flames,
it never lands making it incrediblely hard to get onto and access the inventory of,
and...there is no rebirth!!! it's a firebird atm not a phoenix!

Other then those slight issues it has become a decent tame,
To express exactly how i feel about the creature i will give you the exact stats and tamed points in each which i am accessing using super spy glass "an amazing mod for breeders"

The phoenix was lvl 100 and after tame was lvl 150.

health 1920 (19)
Stanima 508 (25)
food 6,900 (36)
oxy 420 (18)
weight 185 (28)
melee 210.8 (23)
speed 100 (0)

So the phoenix has risen in usefulness about still got a long way to go.

I'd say if you dont find a lvl 150 then it's not really worth the effort.
Also just follow it and wait til the heatwave ends and build a 2 by 2 and 3 high stone cage around where the ashs were so when the next one comes you can easily tame it as without that it is nearly impossible to tame without a fire wyvern.

Of all my annoyances i gotta say it's NO REBIRTH making it a firebird not a phoenix since the phoenixs defining trait is it's ability to rise from the ashs.

A guy on another thread had a brilliant idea,
for the rising make the ashs into a sort of egg,
pick the egg up place it into a fireplace and it turns to a baby phoenix,
then you raise the phoenix up and can imprint.

not overpowered this way and that madness lvl work to get one pays off.

Oh and it can smelt metal to metal ingots and cook food in it's inventory at a rate of 1 per 4 seconds.

I will admit without superboost speed it's movement is 900 or so meaning raptor speed,
with superspeed which burns about 10 stanima asecond it's speed increases to byond even pter and wyvern.
Did a test between 2 rocks the phoenix on super speed took 4.7 seconds and the wyvern took 6.5

The vulture is more useful in combat,
The thorny dragon is more useful outside of combat.

The phoenix is a cosmetic food cooker nothing else.

The bugger does not even land.

Please devs do a overhual fix this creature as right now it's a really bad joke.

Or at the very least release the updated dev kit so people can fix it.
I'm willing to learn ark dev kit to fix it, cant honestly be made any worse.

Boost it's speed & health to griffin lvls,
20% more stanima then atm,
weight of an argie,
Make it eat sulfer & oil,
boost it's damage 3x for direct and 2x for over time,
Make it so we can program it onto other maps without the heatwave using game.ini,
Allow it to land! so hard to get on without a jetpack or railing,
Allow us to collect the ashs and revive it if we put it into a fireplace with sulfer for an hour.

Seriously even with tek tier and 50 fort nearly died countless times hunting this thing and taming it in time if u manage to find its hard and yet it's just another worthless cosmetic like that rarity fish and the unicorn. "atleast the unicorn is a equus which is still useful"

its a glass cannon.. better than the failicorn ..what a fcking joke the unicorn is

"cannon" .. he makes it sound like it is both weak as hell.. cannot be revived.. and can't do any damage worth mentioning.

The fact that a phoenix can't be revived is silly in of itself.. It is a fricken phoenix!

Agreed, the Phoenix is quite a dissapointment for what it actually takes to tame.
Fun fact: with cheats you can make this the fastest flyer ever :D

It's because every time they add something useful to the game the entire PVP community scream for it to be nerfed. So they stopped adding things that you want.

I don't get what happened in the translation between the devkit, the dossier, and the final product, especially if this thing is supposed to be a flying furnace for metal, on offical it wouldn't be able to hold enough metal for a pickaxe, no a smithy.

event if its revived a baby (which is logical) it should be better. it smelts ore but the weight its so low that it cant carry it. u cant even take it as a mobile furnace and then transfer it to an argy or quetzal because it smelts as fast as a normal furnace... should make it to smelt x5 the speed ot something so u can smelt in a mountain and carry it down... at least....

The phoenix could have been such an awesome tame, however the execution is horrible. I would also love a complete overhaul.

They even made it unable to land. They really shouldnd have bothered.

They need a better way to divide the stats between pvp and non pvp. Everyone is too focused on pvp that the fun of all of this is going down the drain. Its not that hard to have stat specifics between servers. This was a let down. Where is the love for us non pvp players.
