Where does Scorched Earth fit into the Ark storyline?
The Island is the only Ark with a proper story. Given that Aberration will continue the story of ark, where does Scorched Earth fit in, and how does it add to the story, since it's already come out and lacks a proper story. Do you think they'll tie it in later?

They probably will. I think i remember hearing them say something about it. It would be nice. Maybe it malfunctioned like Aberration? Seems kind of odd it's just a desert wasteland.

Helena and Rockwell find themselves on scorched after they go through the hall of history. They have their own little adventure then depart from the desert, Im assuming they will wake up on Aberration.
So the lore of scorched is mainly part of Helenas and Rockwells story, but there are a few interesting things found in the notes that lead to more questions, such as an obelsik destroying a city.

hu ? from what i saw you are transfered to scorched earth after defeating the overseer, not aberration. plus Helena's and Rockwell notes follow that same order. what's actually unexplained is how you go from scorched to aberation since there is no ascension system on scorched (yet?) :p

I at first thought that was Scorched Earth, but I kept pausing to see what it was, and the ark displayed wasn't Scorched, so I wonder if it is Aberration, or what.

Its not aberration, aberration is the ark you see that is broken, and is missing its forcefield.

I agree with RaptorJesus - the ARK you land on during ascension is not Aberration.

WARNING: MINOR SPOILER

https://youtu.be/-I9ipgYk6k0?t=36

It DOES look like more of a desert world, but it's not quite clear if it's Scorched Earth or not. Let's assume it is, for the time being.

As you can clearly see at 36 seconds into that cutscene, the ARK you're landing on has three intact columns. Aberration's ARK does not.

Perhaps they'll retcon Scorched Earth to include Ascension - as it is referenced in some of the cave murals, or at least it is to me. Assuming each ARK's basic function is to test the Survivor's abilities, and assess their progress, each ARK must have similar features (such as a Tek Cave/access to the Overseer).

SE is tied in, the explorers note give a large hint to the tie in and why you should go there next after finishing on the island. I'm trying to be vague not to give spoilers but it does tie in and has its own explorer notes which will then tie in with aberration.

I mean cutscenes, bosses, etc.

Scorched Earth is a direct sequel to the story of The Island, what are you talking about?

Storyline? lol, dafuq? o.O
SimpleSiren Sep 2, 2017 @ 6:09pm
Story line for SE is "Developer gets sued and releases a money grab during an Alpha. You as the Survivor must buy the DLC so that Jeremy can sell the company off to the Chinese and buy another boat. Claiming the game is finished when it never had a Beta."

For those curious, go buy and play "Dark & Light" :D lol

If you go and spoil it for yourself, watch any one of the "Ark ending" videos on youtube. You'll see that its not necessarily all linearly "fitting together" but that there are an almost limitless number of arks(which is a game design feature that allows the devs to put out all manner of dlc for the future be it dev or modder created). That was by intent.
