Is it worth the single-player?
i've been following the reviews, so no i'm not going to play multiplayer ever. the only one question i'm gonna ask is, is this game worth getting for the single-player? a simple yes or no would do, but if you want to give a wall of text of explanation, be my guest

Yes

Extended: The game is very configurable to your needs, as far as singleplayer goes.

At it's current price, personally I'd say no as a single player game and purely because it becomes very tiresome very quickly when playing solo, especially after starting over a few times or once you've got the hang of things and every thing becomes fairly easy. Once you reach that point you find yourself just logging in to feed stuff, run around on your favourite tame for 20 mins killing everything in 2 bites then logging off.

It does, best part of the game.

You can play the way you want without people to ruin your game and progress when you logout.

Good singleplayer is more peace than multiplayer is ruined & hacker & some troll in PvE.
I recommend Annunaki Genesis & lots mods on singleplayer

Yes, a resounding yes. Singleplayer as mentioned earlier is configurable to your needs. So to is your particular style of play. Just building to see if you can finally build that awesome castle with views to die for. Taming and breeding a multitude of different species to see if you can get that perfect dinosaur/animal. Taking part in the story line by breeding up the awesomest Rexes and Yuty and others to defeat the various levels of bosses. Or combine and do them all. Yes can be grindy and get boring if you stick to one style of play, but getting in and dying a number of times while you work out game play initself is a good way of determining what you want.

I recommend finding a level patch of ground either on the beach at western spawn point 3 and getting your first hut but bypass thatch if possible and concentrate on wood or stone. Then progress to a fully fledged building and dont be afraid to explore. Tame a flyer, check out the area to find an even better building site.

Go for it!

I would recommend staying away from this game totally and finding something different.

singleplayer is clearly worth the try.

with time you'll adapt it to your preferences and yes mods give a lot more to do/entertain/improve. plus you can test new stuff quietly.

but if you just start as it is, play it and then with time and experience adapt it to your needs you'll find plenty of ways to spent time on this game, easily hundreds if not thousands hours withouth getting bored.

and this new boss is clearly a challenge specially is solo play :p

About 97% of my time spent on Ark, which is over 1000 hours, has been on singleplayer. THis of course was before the 60$ pricetag, and before all the creatures were implemented. I spent a lot of time on this game because I didn't have much else to do. I give it a no personally. The single player is customisable, and it can be fun, but also repetitive. There are only a handful of creatures you'll ever need, so while the multitudes look cool, you'll never have a use for them. Of course you have to work your way up to the better things, but once you do, that's it. Sure, hunt bosses and get element stuff, but it's the same thing. The problem with this game is that while it has SO much to do, it starts feeling the same. Every new experience feels like a rehashed version of the last similar thing you did. What I mean by that is the first time you tame a rex feels just like the first time you tame a raptor. The first time you make tek weapons feel like the first time you made primitive guns. There's just a metric ♥♥♥♥ ton of content, but you rarely feel like you're doing anything new after a couple hours.

For 60$?, No. Save your self the money. The dev's do not care about players opinions, while i'm all for devs forgoeing players input and making the game they feel like they setout to make, this is not one of them. They've talked about optimization for so damn long and have barely done anything. They released a expansion while in early access and called everyone that thought it was a ♥♥♥♥ move, and greddy at that, "cheap bastards" not exactly worded like that (been awhile but it probably was) but damn close.
It's a set back of setback. These devs are just looking for money. 90$ out of the gate if you want everything down the road, of which going by how the expansion went. There will be alot of, and people will flock to defend it.

I would say no for just SP, save your money or you can probably get better games for that money that are better for singleplayer.
