Tips for catching water creatures?
Ok so Ive pretty much mastered the land based gameplay but havent really ventured too far into the water. Mostly due to needing the wet suit and not really knowing what to do to catch the bigger water creatures. Obviously on land you can bola, so what do you do in the water?

Yeh thats what I thought and why I left it really, its more of a late game thing. Sort of ruins the early game aspect of the sea. Why have mantas when by that level you can just go straight for the big fish.

Because mantas are fastest water creatures.. Also for early game you can try diplocaulus (found in swamp), they give you oxygen while underwater. They can walk on land, but can't be ridden, they can pretty fast and CAN be ridden while underwater with no saddle

Here's what i usually do

Tame a Baryonyx, male and female

Get a Baryonyx crew of 3-5 ( i had this number due to the jellyfish being OP ruling the sea before)

Go down farm black pearls then scout for the perfect Squid to tame

Now you rule the sea

Harpoon's and crossbows for knocking down sea creatures, asc crossbows still rule.

There's some caves underwater on the Island map you can use to lure creatures inside and keep them in, if you block the entrances with behemoth gates.

I have the same kind of question, only what kind of weapons work under water? I thought a gun would, I know for a fact guns can shoot underwater. Not as far as land but they can! Then I thought compound bow, but that didn't work... Swords etc weapons don't knock dino's out so what then do I use?

guns don't shoot underwater, except for a special one, if we're talking irl

Decent tier xbow would be your best bet.

xbow, can they shoot all arrow types underwater? Right now I am at level sixty something, so if I don't have that bow yet I can work on it.

Never tried metal arrows on them but yeah you can use them under water.
Not tried fire under water either tbh, but only one way to find out.

I did baryonyx -> Basilosaurus. Now I'm breeding basilos that can easily murder a cluster of Tusos (including alpha tusos)
