That being said, if you have a 150+ wyvern, you could expect around 1500 - 2100 food at birth which means 5-7 hours before it runs out of food. 1 milk is 1200 food, or roughly 4 hours. Milk can last for about 4-5 hours in a preserving bin, this time can be doubled with salt BUT ONLY if you keep salt in the bin at all times (salt lasts 20 minutes per, stack of 6 = 80 minutes, this spoil timer not affected by the preserving bin)
Tip:
Multiplayer: Transfer to another server with milk in your inventory, don't spawn at all, just exit back to the menu. Go back to the server with your baby, download your char and your milk will be fresh again (full spoiler timer)
Singleplayer: upload milk into the oblisk item slots (NOT TRIBUTE), the milk will eventually reach 0 spoilage but will never spoil. When you remove the milk the timer will be back to full.
Now if you have a low level wyvern, it will have a lot less food, will require more frequent feedings, take the same amount of time to raise, and have crappy stats when it's all said and done. You really are better off getting a high level egg. The higher the food and weight for any dino, the easier the maturation will be, especially in baby stage. The food consumption rate is based off the maturation %, not the dino's level or stats. The food rate should be the same for all same type dinos at the same maturation (growth) %.
It's a good idea to keep some milk nearby for imprints though, incase it wants milk.
