What are the glowing colors on dinos?

I haven't played in a while and I know that Alpha dinos have that red mist around them, but now there are different colored mists like orange, green, etc. Can someone explain that to me?

This is the alpha of a pack. This appears on wolves, Allos, and Hyaenodons. Might be forgetting some.

Oh yeah, forgot about those. You can get an alpha yourself by having several of a pack creature, and the highest level will automatically be the alpha.
