Are Therizinosaurus/Tickle Chicken normally this though? *Newer Player*

Wiped out 4 of our dinos that were x2 its level and proceded to three shot me and my tribemate as I unloaded up 30 crowbow tranq arrows into it. It came up from the beach and instantly agroed onto my stego. We are currently newish to ark as we owned the game for awhile just really started pumping hours into the game now(level 38 in game).

At this point im not sure if we put points into are dinos wrong as they were all 80+ level to the Therizinosaurus or if Therizinosaurus are just normally a tough dino to deal with?

Also whats the best way to deal with a Therizinosaurus in the future as their argo seems far?

As with many other dinos, your best bet is to just run if you're on foot or on a weak dino. Avoid them when possible. They can be killed on foot, but keep your distance because even with good flak armor they will tickle your organs right out of you if they pin you against something.

Also if you aggro then on foot it takes something close to a 130 movement speed to outrun them if I remember correctly

That's the case for most things outside of alphas. I've considered 130% to be baseline whenever I level a new character.

I hate Therizinosauruses with a passion lol. I can't count the number of times I've had another dino tranqed and a Theri just happens to wander in and stand around the dino I've just downed. Or I've found a place I want to build a base at low level and one wanders in and I have to wait forever for it to wander away. At least a T-Rex will leave to chase down prey after awhile.

I remember fighting a level 10 Theri on my sabercat that was level 250 or so at the time and had to run away because I was taking too much torpor damage. When I'm on my rex now, I go out of my way to kill them if I see one around. It's revenge for all the trouble they've given me :D

Personally, I've never tamed one and don't plan to. They just seem like the "overpowered do everything dino", and for me I think that would get kind of boring. I'd rather have "specialist" dinos for certain tasks. Nothing against the Theri, they just seem a bit OP for me to have fun for long on.

That's quite understandable. They are extreamly OP especially when your starting out. Personally I hate the tylocolio (sp?) more.

I mostly use the tickle chicken to mow the lawn. Or kill something dangerous. The carry weight doesn't really make it good for much else. Even though they get tons of resource I prefer mammoths and stegs/trikes for wood and berries. One tree and your rooted on the chicken.

I'd like to try breeding one for a boss battle once. Just to see what happens.
