What settings to disable for less lag in ark?
My game is kinda laggy and i'm pretty sure it isnt my computer's fault. But is my internet connection a factor to this. so the conclusion is what settings to disable for the game to run better?

It kinda depends on your rig. Generally however anything to do with shadows, view distance and post processing tend to have significant performance impact so you can try lowering those. Also dropping your textures from epic to high will give you a bump without much of a noticable difference in quality.

shadows, distance shadows, post processing mixed with ambient occlusion, textures on epic, view distance.

There is also a black shadow ?half a screen poping up every 3 seconds. You knowwhat this is about? The other guys on my server dont have that problem only me?

I havent seen this but I have seen ALOT of lighting and shadow glitches. What map are you running because they all have their own lighting and shading bugs

the island. I probalbly didnt describe it hatwell but i think ther is something wrong with the shadows

First off, enable a framerate counter so you know what kind of performance you're getting. Click on Steam > Settings > In-Game, and change the in-game FPS counter to display in whatever corner of the screen you want. For the most part, you really want to be able to maintain 60+ fps. If that's out of the question or you don't care much about framerate, 30fps should be a minimum.

Now just go into your video options and lower everything as far down as it will go and check your FPS. Now raise the settings one by one and mess around with it for a bit until you get a good balance between framerate and visual fidelity.

Hit F12 when it happens and screencap it.

I have two comparisons to what that shadowing is on screenshots. How do i post them here though?

Post your computer specs. Sounds like you're running on a lower end rig from all the things stated thus far.

In steam click the "help" at the top left menu then select System Information and copy paste from there.

But be aware, lag has so many possible reasons to exist. Shadowing issues are more akin to your rig alone though.

lag on server has dissapeared.Must have been the ping. The only issue is the mysterious spastic shadowing
Veeshan Jul 19, 2017 @ 12:14pm
Plenty powerful computer, rubber banding is typically internet related although if you're running the server...
angelmannn02 Jul 19, 2017 @ 12:35pm
Yeah I think my internet is the issue
