Dinosaur Gate /// Dinosaur Fencing???

I'm dissapointed to find out that dinosaur gate is just that. A gate. I thought maybe the gate was fencing as well. This after I made 17 of them. What a huge waste of wood I chopped by hand lol

So what do you use as actual fencing for dinosaurs?

fence foundations and walls or use mods that have same size walls.

If you made extra dino gate frames, you can use them to decorate your walls.

No, go stone if you are going for protection. Most dinos can destroy wood, only a couple can destroy stone.

If you are doing it just for aesthetics wood is fine.

He isn't aggressive. He has that long neck. Just annoying to have him in my base.

well my base is the on beach area.. im mostly trying to keep dilos out of my base. I only have one parasaur i just dont want to worry about him if i leave him home. But yea stone I know its the best way. I just need a better way to farm it. It's too much right now by hand.

Tame a doedicurus or three. You will be rolling in Stone.

I think you should be fine with it being 4 walls tall. (Same as the gate frame). I think the only thing that could step over that would be titanosaur?

You can build a wall out of dino gates if you really want ;)
A little expensive to do so though...

Anything better than thatch will keep dilos out, when I started I just tamed a low level trike or 2 instead to deal with them ;)
They also help gather narcoberries.

It is kinda weird but while im trying to build this wall these 2 brontosaurus move in behind it wheere I dont want them. 2 of them just hanging out in my base lol. I guess ill have to spend the time to tame the both of them so i can move them out. *sigh*

just go for doedicurus or maybe ankylo to get stone and trow away the other resources you dont need,

Yeah, the gate has two parts, the frame and the gate itself.

If you want to recover some of the resources, you can place the gate frames and then hold E to dismantle them. (Do it close to a storage or craft some stone walls to be able to move after recovering the resources)

As stated, stone walls are the best option, only Giganotosaur and Titanosaur can break them if I remember correctly. Also as stated, at least 4 stories tall or the bigger dinos will be able to walk/glitch over it.

I would advise to put some stone door frames with reinforced wooden doors every 10 stone walls or so, in case you need to quickly enter your base without opening the dino gate and allowing what is following you to enter as well.

As regarding the Brontosaur, I would not advise you to try to kill or tame it yet. Same happened to me while building my outer perimeter around my first beach base. I only had slingshot and an bow with few arrows, the Bronto managed to kill all the dinos I had in my pen ( 2 trikes, 2 parasaurs, 3 dilos and some dodos), destroy my wooden house, while killing me twice in the process. And it was not a high level Bronto.
