Whistle attack my target not working

Anyone have a couple ideas of what i can check? I have tried it with and without the spyglass. Is there a setting i might be missing?

Are you playing official or unnoficial? i havent noticed anything amis with this whistle except some animals you have to target their hitbox, and some that means their feet or its really hard cause they are tiny. If you play with Annnunaki, Extinction Core or some other Core mods that can disrupt the whistles, often being temporarily fixed by punching the air.

maybe taming group active? try 0 on num pad then . for attacking

I am also having this issue. I have to really spam period to get it to register. And i've tried single click, so please don't tell me its because im clicking too fast. I've checked.

that has always been sketchy... i have tried it so many times, but, it seems those guys will do what they are gonna do, until they get a chance to not do it...
what is it? comma, or something.. i try "land here", it keeps getting owned by that flying ant until it is near death, THEN decides to land there...
same thing with a land-based critter... but without the flying...

thought i was gonna lose my leveled thyla... to a rubble golem... can't win, (maybe can, but was too close to let it go on..) punched the "go here" button, and when it was nearly dead, it finally followed... jumped on, and gtfo...

point: no need to spam the button.. it will go there, eventually

Group whistles are tame group specific. Make sure you're not in the incorrect "tame group". And if you are IN a tame group, hit the numpad key corresponding to the tame group, that will put you in "no tame group" for dinos that aren't IN a tame group.

And screw people who complain about necroing old question; if I have the answer to an old problem I'm going to help old posts that never got answered.

That is exactly right. I've just had this same problem and your answer was the solution so thank you
